I don't think A) is relevant this year. He will be a HC next season. And yes, he will have other options. I only think one potential opening is significantly better than Carolina and that's the Chargers (and maybe Chicago because of draft capital). This is still an NFL head coaching opportunity. Plenty of talented coaches will be interested.

I agree with everything you are saying. I also think it's impossible for anybody to properly evaluate Bryce and the coaches considering coming here will feel that same way.
-
You guys are foolish; are you suggesting we hire a coach that isn't convinced Bryce is a good QB and can make him sucessful? Immediately setting yourself up for failure because we have no means to acquire another QB. The new guy has to be committed to making him successful and then evaluating once he's had a legit shot.
-
We can all hope. At least he is one name that would re-unite the fan base.

The only way you can eat a cow is one bite at a time. Gotta start somewhere. Fitterer needs to go so we can bring in some FA and draft picks that actually make a difference.
-
Not every Huddler constantly shitposts Bryce but this thread has many. I'm trying to have a real conversation about the future of the team and my thoughts. He has traits that can help the team be successful. What you think is irrelevant because other coaches in the NFL will agree and try to develop him. Hopefully it works. And for the record, I wanted Stroud. But talking poo about Bryce doesn't matter now, he is here for 2 more years minimum. We need to develop a team around him.
-
Agree. But currently, it's mostly impossible to provide that because of the situation. Which is why they need a coach that can put him in a situation that allows him to be successful and THEN evaluate him.
-
When he has time, he's made very accurate throws with anticipation. He's shown the ability to escape pressure. I know this entire thread will be a shitposting Bryce thread and will disagree with me. The next coach will want Bryce and see potential.
-
That is exactly being committed to Bryce. They have to present a scheme that shows their plan to build around his tools. And then Bryce can be actually evaluated.
-
And the coaches/execs won't be considered. Plenty of coaches (well at least Flores) weren't interested in Tua but McDaniels was 100% bought in. That's the only way for this team to succeed in the next 3 years.
-
Why? They have to develop him. There is no other choice. So they will choose the best tandem that builds around his strenghts. He can be a good NFL QB and many coaches and execs will agree even if you don't.
-
Don't be silly. Any coach and GM they bring in will be 100% bought in on Bryce.
-
I feel pretty confident that Fitterer is fired too. No benefit to firing GM mid season because there isn't any "changes" that can be made to the roster now. Firing a coach at least allows different coaching strategies to influence the team. Tepper cannot be that blind. (I hope). A new GM/Coach aligned together in their belief of Bryce and bring the best plan to build around him is the strategy.
-
100%. There is plenty of things that he can do well to succeed in the NFL with a modern scheme and playmakers around. We need a coach that agrees and develops the best plan for that. And, yea, if next season he hasn't shown significant growth then a new QB is on the table.
-
Now I don't disagree with that. That's the best job by far. Best hope is Staley turns things around. They are a tier above everybody else. I don't think Carolina is any different from Washington/NE/Raiders except they have a first round pick and we don't.
-
Yes, absolutely. He has a better shot of being a HC by just being a great DC than taking an interim spot. He deserves a shot now, he has done wonders with our defense considering the personnel sucks and the injuries have been bad. But not here. We need to spend every resource developing Bryce (and I know you don't like him or think he can succeed) but he is here for at least 3 more years.
-
Bryce can work in a lot of modern NFL offenses. Plenty of coaches know that he has tools. He clearly needs work as well. I think lots of coaches aren't going to turned off by the situation. The only thing they won't like is not having a first round pick. Almost every new HC goes to a bad situations because their previous coach was fired for a reason. This isn't anything new.
-
I get the pessimism. It's deserved. I am choosing to be hopeful because it beats feeling that the future is lost already. Evero didn't want to be the interim in Denver and didn't hear. I don't think it's a "situation" thing but more that he just doesn't want to complicate his life. He has made a name for himself as a DC and interim tag may impact him. I think Johnson will strongly consider. And although we hate Tepper, I don't know that most coaches will view him in the same light that we do as fans.
