  1. In any scenario you don’t trade the future for anyone in the now...things change
  2. Picks 4-7 usually don’t work out. Good to trade all of current draft to move up. Future 1s being traded to move up almost never work.
  3. Look...picking Trey Lance is like this...you play a pickup game with all the big boys and its tough. Next game someone picks the kid dribbling by himself that looks good. Then, the big boys show him the big boy game. Does he go home? Gotta know that to pick Lance While this is going on Parsons is destroying as the best player in the big boy game
  4. I personally am totally ok with considering defense in this draft early. We are close to building a great defense here. Pick a dynamic LB or secondary guy and I am good. Compared with picking Lance we win. Take the best player. Do believe in building up the middle. A great ILB would be really helpful but we are 1 guy away from a great DL with a running mate for Brown.
  5. The problem here is that not all positions are equally important. Nice post doe.
  6. I originally was intrigued by this post but the one dimensional comment was just silly. We went all defense last draft to address that and as you stated we are in year 2 of a rebuild with a first year GM. Would be naive to not be trying to get a franchise QB no matter your situation. BTW...the new GM is looking for OL help despite the mess Hurney left here.
  7. True...it is amazing how ravenous people get in year 2 of a total rebuild. LOL. Not taking a QB is totally fine right now. Get Talent!
  8. Sounds good...so maybe round 3 for Trask? I would like to get him here even as a backup. He is ascending and 69% comp, 4200 yrds with 43 TDs vs 8 picks in the SEC on a big stage? Big dude too. I like Trask as a developmental guy. He was a difference maker for Fla last season and I didn’t see game manager at all. Dude played the bowl too when many dude checked out. I love how he has worked himself into a player.
  9. Mills has some talent but if you watch full games he misses the strike zone wildly at times. Injury history too. Gotta vet his leadership qualities and command of the huddle. He is a hot name so he probably goes day 2 but maybe not once teams get their guy.
  10. I keep seeing Chuba Hubbard hanging around in the round 3 in mocks. Seems strange to me with his size and speed. If he goes that late someone if gonna be really happy. Dude can fly.
  11. If Atlanta actually picks Pitts there this one seems pretty realistic IMO... https://www.nflmockdraftdatabase.com/mock-drafts/2021/draft-king-2021-lou-pickney?date=2021-03-27 Even if Fields goes to Atlanta still a good chance Lance is there at 8 if we want him.
  12. Seeing the moves that have been made it is fairly clear that before these lawsuits Watson to the Panthers was probably going to happen.
  13. Lance looks so much like Jordan Love it is uncanny IMO. Be much easier if we could have seen Love more with the Packers in an NFL setting.
  14. Thats fine we just disagree here. Agree that all those past misses has definitely helped these GMs identify weaknesses. The draft will always be hit or miss especially at QB. At any given time there are like 15-20 people on the planet that can do NFL QB well.
  15. Thanks for the effort but 5 years? LOL Too limited a sample size to drive home that point. There are more first round QBs that have busted than have been quality starters. I could build a list but that’s just common knowledge.
  16. Quick, do one on high first round QBs that have busted completely
  17. I personally don't see a lot of difference between Jones and Trask. The QBs in the next draft have a lot of question marks especially if you aren’t sitting at the first pick. I get your point but picking someone like Lance is a big gamble especially if you are giving up picks to do so. Fit is huge obviously but you can get a quality QB after round 1 although it is less likely than the past with how vetted the guys are these days.
  18. Sorry but I find this incredibly short sighted. We can afford a quality backup after round 1 and one of those guys probably end up making it while a top 10 guy will fail miserably. It has happened many times.
  19. I do like Davis Mills as well. At worst a long term quality backup but some upside there. He has to many moments of wildly missing open receivers at this point and limited experience so he is flyer for sure.
  20. How bout we grab Pitts at 8 and Trask in round 2? Not kidding. At worst Trask could be a nice backup here for a long time. I don't hate him in round 2 honestly seeing how desperate we are right now. The way he improved last year was impressive IMO.
  21. I hope you are correct here as trading up to 5 should be hella less expensive than 2 or 3. Still expensive but not terribly so. That assumes we even like Lance.
  22. Serious possibility Teddy is the QB next year. Probably need to get used to it
  23. Top 7 picks right now if I had to guess... 1 - Lawrence 2 - Wilson 3 - Lance 4 - Fields 5 - Sewell 6 - Chase 7 - Smith 8 - Pitts or Parsons or Surtain
  24. If Fields is available after Atlanta I will be shocked. If he goes there I am staying put or moving down. QB dream over this draft. Don’t want Lance or Jones.
