Why we should draft Dorial Green-Beckham
The NFL Shield At Midfield replied to SCP's topic in Carolina Panthers
carolina wouldn't spend a 7th on him the good news though is that we're going to see four months of new topics every time a "green-beckham turning heads at minicamp" and "green-beckham focused on football" fluff piece comes from the beat writer of a "real team that wants to win football games" -

How Thirsty is DG for a pass rush DE?
The NFL Shield At Midfield replied to bLACKpANTHER's topic in Carolina Panthers
they need to adjust their expectations or find another team if they think rivera and gettleman are going to tool this team into the mid 2000s colts. -
wilson does most of his damage throwing on the run. the whole idea when gameplanning for him is to keep him in the pocket and play contain because he's way less dangerous hemmed up like that. delhomme didn't have great pocket presence (lots of fumbles and stepping into sacks there) but to frame it up like wilson does is just lol

the "weapons" comparison gets on my nerves because seattle runs a shanahan style west coast offense in the general sense. that's a system that leans on a strong rush attack and doesn't need an elite vertical threat to be successful. a wide receiver who can't read coverages and would struggle with the plethora of option routes in that system would hurt a lot worse than one who can do all those things but isn't a freak athlete. meanwhile here in charlotte we had mike shula trying to run a coryell type system with byron bell at left tackle and jerricho cotchery and kelvin benjamin split out wide. plus wilson is the absolute undisputed king of horseshit when it comes to 50/50 balls and ducks lobbed into triple coverage so there's that

better than tampa bay's redesign where they just gave the old logo a fivehead and added LED alarm clock numbers to their uniforms and i agree cleveland's new uniforms do have kind of an NCAA feel to them but i don't think it's bad necessarily

Panthers talk to Greg Jennings
The NFL Shield At Midfield replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
we brought him in, tabled what we could, and if he rejects it in favor of a fatter deal then i won't be disappointed the jaguars can and probably will offer more guaranteed than the panthers so i think this is the end of the line folks -
i was reading some bears fans commenting on this. they seem to be sad to see him go and think he was a good pickup for us. he has formidable old man game (rock solid fundamentals, great awareness, and refined technique) and is a hell of a leader on the field. bears fans were raving about him coaching up fuller after he went on IR.

Roster reset: NFC South
The NFL Shield At Midfield replied to CelibatePimp's topic in Carolina Panthers
the saints had a nearly flawless roster on paper last season so i can't really blame any of the prognosticators for thinking they'd win the division going away in 2014 it hasn't been nearly the same thing this year though and i think when it comes time to do the nfc south writeups they're just kind of going "eh i mean come on it's the saints obviously they're going to be better" -

Panthers talk to Greg Jennings
The NFL Shield At Midfield replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well Joe did report that he had signed with an unknown team that wasn't the panthers last week so I don't know if they're really all that different. -
Can we play Huddle Survivor
The NFL Shield At Midfield replied to Squirrel's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well nice knowing you guys -
If you say so chief Point is everyone's concept of how good teams are run and the kind of players they give chances to is skewed and biased. Look at the hardy situation-three teams had a confirmed interest. One of them was the defending NFC champion and they passed based on-get this-money and character concerns.

It's easy for fans because they're not writing the checks or having to answer questions at press conferences or being held personally accountable. Only one team is even going to be able to draft this guy. There are probably several good teams who would laugh at the notion of spending a first on him. There are probably a couple that don't even have him on their boards. For every Moss there are ten da'rick rogers who are physical freaks but can't hold their poo and bounce around the league until they're done. Hell the team everyone on this site considers the cream of the crop crown jewel of 'surrounding the qb with weapons' in the colts let rogers ride the bench for four weeks until they finally released him after a DUI arrest. This was shortly after Jim irsay was picked up for the same thing so whoamg teh hypocrisy1! Now he's on his third team since 2013 and nobody remembers or cares about how much the panthers were going to sorely regret passing on him. If we do draft dgb I'd actually support it all things considered. You know nippleshorts picked him apart and decided it was worth the risk in that case.

Five teams that won't return to the playoffs
The NFL Shield At Midfield replied to Toker Smurf's topic in Carolina Panthers
I could live with it if the author had expanded on his point. It's really the lack of effort that rubs me the wrong way. As if he's just going 'I mean come on the falcons are going to be better' and leaving it at that. Well, why? -

if we don't draft nine wide receivers/offensive tackles there are going to be more of the same articles coming up too so get ready
