Did CMC play with him? I know Constello (so?) was one of the QBs during CMC's time at Stanford so maybe CMC is trying to get one of them to Carolina
-
Hey Verge, you have more insight than I do lol but I just have this gut instinct that Carolina is not done with the QB position this off-season, whether is via draft or trade. I know we just got Darnold but part of me thinks they want some competition, or atleast, an upgrade to the back-up position who could develop into a decent starter... Now do I think Carolina will actually pull the trigger in the 2nd? Probably not but as stated in another thread, wasn't there late 1st round/early 2nd round grades on Mills? I could be mistaken.

Here’s a little nugget for your Friday. The Stanford double-dip.
methodtoll replied to Bronn's topic in Carolina Panthers
From some articles I have read (and also Mock Drafts) Mills was actually by some as an late 1st rounder/Early 2nd. Some have stated that a team like Tampa Bay or New Orleans or even Pittsburgh might had picked him in the 1st so I really don't see him, Trask, or Mond lasting very long in the 2nd. So it is very plausible that we could look at Mills with the 2nd round. -
rousseau just went off the board... Personally I think it will be a safety of OL... Not necessarily OT though. I could also see a trade down to acquire more picks
-
So which LT do you want us to draft tomorrow in round 2?

So many people will light up torches and pitchforks if Carolina selects a QB in round 2 Who is ready for Mills/Mond/Trask? -
I don't think we are done with the run of QBs in the first round. I have a gut feeling that Pittsburgh or New Orleans may surprise us with a QB pick... Maybe Mills or Mond?
-
I was kind of thinking the same... I don't think Carolina is done just yet tonight
-
I think they said pick is in... Going with Fields, Slater, or Horn

BREAKING: A.Rodgers wants out of Green Bay
methodtoll replied to firefox1234's topic in Carolina Panthers
I kept saying to myself that this one of the most intriguing drafts in a while, atleast for the 1st round. It should be interesting to see what all goes down. -
I wouldn't be mad... If you listened to what Rhule said his presser, he mentioned that getting better on defense, adding support on both sides of the line, and adding more talent to the passing game was key for them in the draft so I could see it happening so as long as round 2 is about the offensive line.

I am honestly not disappointed in this off-season so far. While the players aren't exactly all-stars, they are high potential signees, and the most important is that they are still relatively young. That's how you build a roster. Also, I see a lot of flack towards Rhule but give the man a break and just let him do his thing. You seriously cannot expect Superbowl caliber results in just one season, especially with a rebuilding roster.

Dan Patrick: Panthers interested in trading for Sam Darnold
methodtoll replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Oh what irony it would be if Darnold winds up with the Panthers and beats out Teddy for the starting position... -
As a Georgia fan, I wouldn't want Fromm anywhere near the starting position. Fields should've easily been the starter but Georgia chose loyalty over potential. I'd take Fromm as a back-up though

A late round sleeper QB to watch out for...
methodtoll replied to methodtoll's topic in 2023 NFL Draft
My apologies for any reposting of a similar topic! I try my best to make sure to look back to make sure there isn't a similar topic but I can overlook things sometimes... My bad lol -
So looking back at this week's news that the 49ers move up to the #3 pick makes it pretty apparent that they may be looking at a QB and with that said, it could potentially put a wrinkle in our plans to draft a qb in this year's draft.... Or is it? Let me be clear, this is not Marty Burney's draft... This is Fitty's place to shine and he has been in the war room when the Seahawks drafted a guy that many thought would probably never amount to anything outside of being possibly a #2 QB but he proved doubters wrong and later won a Superbowl title with the help of him and that guy is no other than..... Russell Wilson... But surely Fitty Magic can't strike buried gold again, right? Surely not... Right? But wait... I envision a similar situation happening here... Enter Davis Mills, QB, Stanford Now I know what you are probably thinking, "you are f'n crazy if you think this guy will amount to any thing more than a back-up QB" But I watch some game tape (yes, game tape, not highlights) and this guy has a good bit of moxie about him. His game is very similar to another recent Stanford QB by the name of Andrew Luck with a hint of Peyton Manning (and no, I am not saying he will be that level good but just that a similar style of game.) Pros: Great in the pocket, has a bullet of a arm, prototyoical size, some mobility (can move around in pocket to buy time) Negatives: Tends to hold on to the ball, needs to add some weight, needs to be more accurate at times Ladies and Gents... Davis Mills is my sleeper QB pick... Now proceed to bash away...

Quite honestly (and forgive me for being blunt), I don't really care where he goes at this point because I am just ready for all this topic to be closed. The draft cannot get here soon enough.
-
That could wind up in Carolina, regardless if it is via draft, FA, or trade? Hearing Fitterer speak on being aggressive has me thinking outside the box a little. One name nobody seems to mention is Dak Prescott. More than likely Dallas will not let him go in FA and will likely tag him and if Carolina is willing to give up a ransom for Carolina then Dak could really be a sleeper pick up. Thoughts?
-
Ooooooor...... Maybe Carolina purposely held him out because of that reason alone... They want him... Please don't take me serious
-
The great news about this is that this basically confirms Lions will not draft a QB in the first round. One less team to worry about
-
Hell yes to Stafford.... But that might be the Georgia Bulldog fan coming out of me lol.
-
Are we seriously becoming the Seahawks of the South? Lol Does this mean we are waiting till the 3rd round to draft a QB?

Currahee Mountain in Toccoa, GA. If you are not familiar with the name then I suggest you watch the HBO series, Band of Brothers and you'll understand why.
