Thank you! It drives me crazy when folks add a "E" in his name... I mean, if you are going to be a Wilks nut hugger, can you at least spell his name right???
-
Nice! I dig

I am wondering what a Ben Johnson potential staff will look like if hired... I watched a Texans podcast because they were talking about Johnson and the dude mentioned that Johnson may target Fangio or Terrell Williams from the Titans for DC and then for the OC he may target Mark Brunell
-
I figured he would keep Holcomb on as DC... This sounds like an indicator they may be shying away from Wilks
-
Interesting tidbit coming from Scott Fowler: Panthers request interview with Jets' Safeties Coach, Marquand Manuel for Defensive Coordinator position But why? Shouldn't the head coach pick the DC???
-
I am all aboard the Steichen train.... The factum that he worked with Rivers, Herbert and Hurts and actually made Herbert and Hurts good QBs made me excited about the potential of our QB roster next season if he is hired. I would love to see: Shane Steichen - HC Vic Fangio or Ejiro Evero- DC Matt LaFluer or Frank Reich- OC
-
I swear, if they interview all these offensive guys, only to hire Wilks then what was the whole point???
-
I wanted to see what Cowboys fans are saying and boy would they be happy if we took him off their hands.... Not a ringing endorsement lol
-
Tepper clearly wants to change the Panthers identity

I still think they will go left field on this hire and get someone outside the box... Kafka fits that mold. I do think to keep an eye out for Brian Callahan for the Bengals too -
Gus Bradley news? I was just purely speculating about him becoming DC but it was announced by several news outlets that the Panthers had put in a request to interview Steichen
-
He wouldn't be HC... I was mainly listing him as a candidate for DC but only because of his connections with Steichen. Steichen could very well go a different route.
-
Based on the requests for interviews: HC- Shane Steichen (Eagles OC) OC- Brian Johnson (Eagles QB coach) DC- Gus Bradley (Former Colts and Chargers DC) Notes about the coaching staff: I think Steichen's ability to develop QBs will be something Fitterer and Tepper will really like and overall will sell them on him. I think Steichen will use his connections from both the Eagles and Chargers to develop a decent staff. By bringing over Johnson, I think he will continue where he left off with the Eagles but will have his choice at QB. Defensively, I think Bradley will be brought in because of their time together with the Chargers. QB: Will Levis I think they really like Stroud and Young better but just didn't want to risk losing picks and decide to go with Levis and develop around him. 2023 record: 8-9

Maybe I am in the minority but I am totally expecting them to go left field and hire someone that hasn't been talked about a lot (i.e Mike Kafka or Brian Callahan)
-
Maybe because they already know who they want... I mean, after all, they had a leg up on the research throughout the season... It's just a matter of doing a formal interview
-
Some of y'all need to chill... This will be a lengthy process and surely Reich, Wilks, and Caldwell won't be the only candidates.... It's called doing their due diligence and homework before hiring. I am fairly certain that DeMeco Ryan, Shane Steichen, Ben Johnson, Dan Quinn, Brian Callahan, Shane Waldron, Mike Kafka, and Ken Dorsey will probably get looks too
-
Ummm I am talking league wide... McVay, Shanahan, McDaniels, Zac Taylor, Matt LaFluer, etc .. I think many teams will figure out these offenses and eventually teams will go back to hiring defensive minded coaches to counter these high offensive plays. Personally, I think the whole "we need an offensive guy" thing is overplayed and not every defensive coach will be "conservative" . Honestly though, it really don't matter who is coaching this team, so as long as they get them on right track and this team becomes a playoff caliber team again
-
So first it was Tepper wanting a experience HC (ie Reich, Peyton, Quinn), then it was him wanting an offensive guru (Johnson, Steichen) and now he wants a young gun DC to take the helm... I will be so happy when the off-season gets here so we can put an end to this nonsense rumor crap. I will believe it when they actually interview twice.

Ben Johnson vs Shane Steichen
methodtoll replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Everybody talks about these two but no love for Brian Callahan? I mean, the Bengals offense is pretty stout. -
Next Offensive and Defensive Coordinator
methodtoll replied to Chris Smitty's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think Al Holcomb stays if Wilks is retained because they are tied to the hip but on the fence about Mcado.o Personally, I think Reich would be a good choice if he chooses not to take a HC job -
Question: how is taking off a helmet BEYOND the goal post considered "excessive celebrating" but yet when the Bengals had big moments on defense and decided to taunt in the end zone, it's not considered excessive celebrating???
