Panthers Select Ja'Tavion Sanders TE - Pick 101, Round 4
trucpfan replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
Lolll what? I think you're confusing starter with a one yard pickup. Brooks is a explosive every down back. Chuba is good but not on the level of Brooks youth, speed, hands out the backfield and lack of wear and tear are all heavily in favor our young stud he'll be the starter at some point this season. But I definitely expect Chuba to contribute at a high amount throughout the season if we're what we plan on being a run heavy team. -
The Panthers keep making the same mistakes under new GM.

Our quick passing game needs multiple elements a potential deep threat who can actually catch contestded jump balls with top notch speed was a perfect addition to our offense. We can't run out three of the same wide outs and expect to be a deceptive or productive team. Currently we can run either XL or DJ deep with confidence they'll make a play but we have our quick separator and our deep big jump ball catcher. We have to have WR with different traits to be dynamic.... Bengals...fast separator Chase Big jump ball WR Tee .... Eagles Fast separator Smith Big deep threat jump ball catcher AJ who happens to be fast asf.) We're following a winning module on how good wr cores are built. -
Panthers Select Jonathan Brooks RB - 46th Pick, Round 2
trucpfan replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
This is literally the best approach possible. Only thing is coaches don’t wake up and say we’re not contenders this year they’re trying to win in a bad way so if he helps us win he’ll get more touches but I think we’d be setting ourselves up for success with this formula. End up with a very high draft pick again in each round and we’re hopefully loaded with talented young players. -
Panthers Select Xavier Legette WR - Pick 32, Round 1
trucpfan replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
Very good points I believe with a little strength conditioning in a years time he'll be breaking tackles similarly. But his go up and get it out the air is elite Mingo doesn't have that. -
We haven't learned

According to Legette, Panthers will draft Legette at #33

Honestly I like the idea of double dipping but with the addition of DJ we might not have enough opportunities. He's known for wanting the ball he's been shown to make incredible plays over and over we should feed him ala Smitty in his prime with Ladd AT Mingo and IHM. We still have two decent TEs probably add another RB. Adding two rookie Wrs leaves no room for Mingo growth or IHM opportunities. I like how it looks getting two stud WRs but if we could dramatically benefit from a massive D Lineman or a stud CB or even a DE all of those positions would better impact the team it seems. Remember we feed AT all game last year this year that should be DJ getting a massive amount of targets followed by AT and Mingo sprinkle in our TE group we really don't have to many opportunities left in general to double dip at WR. -
PFF Day 2 WR projection. Different take
trucpfan replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Based off what we saw last year I can see us picking Keon at 39 or later with a beneficial trade back because Bryce's deep ball was very underwhelming I'll say. We really need that climb the ladder jump ball catcher a player who's snatching the passes at there high points because as stated the deep ball was oddly very inaccurate so let's try to get our version of Mike Evans with Leggette or KC both jump ball catchers. -
Draft Rumors/Charlie Campbell Notes (Per r/NFL_Draft)
trucpfan replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
Lol I not mad at you I'm glad the drafts finally upon us it's been a long year and this is another shot of optimism based on how well we do. We might pull a Detroit and draft three high quality players setting us up nicely for the future. -

Pressers: OC Idzik & Assistant HC Harold Goodwin
trucpfan replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
Lolll I definitely agree, it's going to be a long season even with improvements across the board we were the absolute worst team last year this year we may be the fifth worst or 7th worst which equals another long season. -

Any brief summary or recaps? -
Dammm that's wild he's old and barely shown much one year production mehh. Ladd me because DJ is a deep option with good intermediate separation AT can still get it done hopefully Mingo or TMJ step up leaving room for a quick hitter like Ladd to compliment out other WRs

PFF Day 2 WR projection. Different take

I don't know if we should do that if you think about it a little deeper Canales isn't tied to Bryce at all. You build your team the best way you are fit. And nowadays we've seen second year QBs who can't get it done get benched and eventually moved in from rather quickly. We end up in the top 3 next year and Bryce still looks overwhelmed I'm sure we'll be looking towards a young stud. I agree with this lets grab the best stud available Bryce just has to get it done with much better blocking and better weapons out the ball where it needs to be, just be the Bryce we saw at Bama. -
Lol I feel this way also but what if those two were legit jump ball catchers that dominated using body for slants and high point catching on the regular. We’d have two separators DJ and AT with two big body WR’s. Who while letting them learn from two top separating WR’s in the league. It might make us a strong offensive team this upcoming season.

I was so confused first thing I said when I saw that is they even have us drafting bad they really think we’re a little crazy or something I said damm those were terrible selections compared to what we passed up. Legette to the Saints Pitt got JPJ Phila gets A Mitchell I’m like we have to be crazy to go with those two selections before all those other players.

Matt Miller: 1st round could have 8 WR’s
trucpfan replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
This is also a good point because two players passed on in that draft we just acquired Hunt and Lewis top preforming inside guards. So I completely understand taking the great value that falls to you but the way the qb looked last year it’s going to be hard to pass up a good weapon for him.- 48 replies

Picking up a Tee type or a Cooper Cupp light would be essential to helping develop our Qb and team. Optics are important also even though I agree we might pass up a top talent at another position because we have to show effort by getting weapons to help out Bryce’s development. Houston has a arsenal of weapons for Stroud, all young top Qbs get big time help by year two Chase Hurts etc… A stud rookie DJ and veteran AT should be the minimum we bring to the table.- 48 replies

This is really a wildcard situation I didn’t know that we’re actually acting like a professional team Bryce may or may not be a good QB adding another talented QB is how we stay competitive. This is something to really think about. I understand we have needs but having a talented QB who can get the job done is essential to our team growing and returning to a competitive ball club. Let’s say we end up without any early drafted CB’s we could easily add a free agent vet to get us by. A lot of teams lack in an area or two but good QB play usually makes up for it.

I like LS as a player but he didn’t move the needle for us at all. Maybe we weren’t creative enough but I’d say he’s just a gadget player we’ll be fine without him. Congrats to him.

Did Panthers sign Stephon Gilmore too?
trucpfan replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Damm that’s actually great news in my opinion he’ll come if we pay him respectably. We definitely have a very good chance it seems he knows what we have the D seems to forming up nicely strong upfront presence (Brown, A Rob, and Clowney). With a really good backend if he signs usually produces a strong defense. Being able to stop the run or minimize it leads to passing plays. More passing leads to picks and strip sacks when you have a strong DB group, usually contract year players show up and show out so considering that Horn will probably show out this year. -
This is the best way to build our team, no shortcuts right now we need to develop our talent and sprinkle in FA’s. Go the Ladd Mc way bc Bryce is a short throw QB we need quick separating WR’s to cater to his traits. Mike didn’t seem to be a major benefit to us this upcoming season it’s just our hunger for wanting available free agents to say we’ve added talent which we sorely need.

Smitty on the 2024 WR Draft Class (w/cliffnotes)
trucpfan replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
To his credit Cooper Kupp the one Wr he said would be a big time player and he was right about him. He's missed on a lot of other WR but CK he was dead on. -
In no way should we let go of Adam T, what we need to do it seems like is add a major free agent like Tee Higgins then add a mid level like Curtis Samuels back to go along with Mingo and Adam. He’s to reliable to let go we need him in the slot and all over the field producing first downs. Maybe we bring back DJ Chark if we can get a good deal done to build off last year and because football’s a rough sport I expect injuries to all positions if you’re deep you’ll be able to maintain through those injuries.

I like the thoughts but I'd say Brown called that play and he's getting better and better as a play caller. Not Tabor, Brown deserves all the credit for that situation.

An actual compliment for Bryce Young... the kid can take a hit
