  1. DeAngelo now saying he was referring to leadership and owner and not Rivera or teammates.
  2. Thank you for the memories DeAngelo! You will be missed!
  3. Interesting stat about Luck I just want to post here: Since Luck was drafted, the Colts are 16-2 against their own division. They simply don't have another QB in the AFC South that is even average or has a chance of out-scoring them. Against all other teams, the Luck led Colts are 17-13. Solid, a few games above .500 but a far cry from the domination that is 16-2. Since coming into the league, Cam Newton and the Panthers are 14-10 against the NFC South. Against all other teams, in the regular season, the Newton led Panthers are 18-21-1.
  4. Love Agholor. He'd be a great fit here and a good compliment to Kelvin. Doubtful he's around in the 2nd round and I actually think he could be worth a 1st. At 25 we may end up having our choice between Strong, Agholor, Perriman, Devin Smith, and DGB. All very good players that could instantly start for us and be difference makers.
  5. Cap is going to continue to rise more and more every year. That helps at least. We just need Gettleman to continue drafting well so that when players are due to get paid here, we have capable depth and players waiting in the wings to take their place so it is easier to negotiate and easier to let them go as a viable replacement piece is already on the roster. The single most important factor in handing this money to Cam is drafting well every year and keeping him upright.
  6. Except that it specifically noted that Cam's reps are meeting with Gettleman at the combine.
  7. @josephperson: #Panthers renew contract talks w/ Cam Newton, who's expected to let Luck and Wilson set the QB market. http://t.co/fXUjKxTyH3
  8. I took a liking to boxing this summer while working at the Barclays Center. Was working the Provodnikov/ Algieri bout and the Garcia/Salka (lol) massacre. Saw DeMetrius Andrade one of those nights, as well as Lamont Peterson. After being ringside and working behind the scenes, meeting Freddie Roach and Oscar De La Hoya I came to appreciate the sport much more and enjoyed the entire spectacle. I'll be watching. http://youtu.be/BPZcxbxeH6Q If you think it's painful watching the video, being there in person was even worse. I felt bad for Salka as soon as the fight began. Totally outmatched... Can't believe Danny even took this fight. Dude is a clown.
  9. Nice I miss Portland. I grew up in a small seaside town just south of there. Whenever I'm home I always make my way into the 'city' we call Portland.
  10. Absolutely. Made the flight and whole trip worth it. Second ever game at BOA was the Cards playoff game this past season. Safe to say I've been lucky to witness two huge wins.
  11. My first ever game at Bank of America Stadium. A moment I will never ever forget. I remember not even seeing the refs signal touchdown because I was in a state of shock and thinking for some reason that he may not have held on (was on opposite end of stadium) so I was trying to temper my excitement and then they showed the first replay after the review and I exploded like it was happening live.
  12. It would be nice but it's wishful thinking. I've seen White rated higher on some boards than Cooper. The biggest problem is that there are just so many WR-needy teams with young QBs. Raiders need a WR. As do the Vikings, Browns (in the worst way), potentially the 49ers, potentially the Texans, Chiefs (in the worst way), then the Browns pick again. Id love to land White or Parker but by the time the 25th pick rolls around I think we are looking at Strong, Perriman, Coates, and Devin Smith as our primary options at WR. Of those I'd prefer Perriman but if we are set on a pass-catcher I'd rather take the best TE in the draft in Maxx Williams who could be like Jason Witten or Gronk for years and years. If we went that route, I'd hope we would have addressed WR in free agency and/or drafted a deep threat in rounds 3-4.
  13. I kind of worry about Collins being able to sustain NFL LT weight. Really starting to think he is more suited for guard. At one point he was said to be around 320 but at the combine was just several pounds over 300 I believe. Doubtful he could hold up on the right side at that weight and it would be tough sledding on the left. However, technique often trumps many of the physical traits on the line. I love his nastiness and mean streak I just don't know how well he would fit on our team with Norwell and Turner here already. I have full confidence in Gettleman so whatever they decide to do I will be on board with it.
  14. Id rather we address corner in FA than the draft. We have enough inexperience and youth at the cornerback position right now. There is a solid list of veteran corners out there than can upgrade the position for us at good value.
  15. I wouldn't mind Cecil Shorts on the cheap. Pair him with another first or second round WR and our receivers are set for a while if Shorts can stay healthy and the young guys develop. I'd prefer a veteran tackle to be brought in but the value just may not be there. Teams tend to overpay for OTs and have been burned the last couple years because of it.
