Any contractors/builders out there?
OnlyPantherFaninMaine replied to OnlyPantherFaninMaine's topic in Huddle Lounge
If it helps at all… I have attached the invoice I was provided for the job straight from a local labor company. The contractor made it sound like this was lumber “at his cost” and not what I would be quoted if I walked in and requested the exact same materials. It’s primarily a large finished space, but there is a large L shaped interior wall he would be framing so we can leave part of the basement unfinished for storage. He’d be framing out a half bathroom down there, approximately 8x6 in addition to a large closet. He will have to box in some plumbing in the ceiling but otherwise it’s just framing around the concrete. -
Getting ready to finish my basement (Maine) - approximately 1,600-1,700 square feet. Funds are tight so will be doing it incrementally and obviously need to start with framing around the concrete as well as some interior wall creation and framing around the plumbing in the ceiling. Have a contractor I know through a mutual relationship - have known him for a couple years but it’s not like we are super close. He came by the other week to take a look and offered to do the framing for me. I saw the invoice from a local lumber company today - $2000 for lumber. I was quoted at $6000 all in for the materials + labor of strictly the framing. Is that common for the labor to be 2X the materials? He works alone and said it would only take him a couple days. No insulation, electric, or drywall included. Does this price feel reasonable to folks? Feels a bit high to me but I know people can essentially name their prices in our current environment. I was hoping it would be more like $4.5K-$5K.

BIG BUMP. Starting a new personal collection to display and am looking for the following Topps Chrome Rookie Black Refractors: 2001 Steve Smith, 2002 Julius Peppers, 2003 Ricky Manning Jr., and 2011 Cam Newton. Anyone sitting on any of these 4 that they would be willing to part with and send to a good home?

Official NFL 2023 Draft Discussion
OnlyPantherFaninMaine replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Kinda annoyed with how the ESPN coverage seems to be leaking and hinting to a lot of the licks right before they are announced. Same deal on NFL Network? -
All the way north here but just put a 7lb pork butt on the Traeger and should be smoking for 10 hours or so. Doing a Carolina BBQ themed spread for some buddies that are coming over to celebrate with the only Panther fan they know. I strategically took the following day off from work so will be staying up and watching picks 1-32.

Hard to say without out being behind closed doors - but feels like our medical staff has been dropping the ball for years with surgeries well into the off-season. I think players and agents like to wait to see if the body is able to heal itself without an operation, but missing a fracture that occurred prior to the final game of the season and operating in April is frustrating for all parties involved. He should be several months into a recovery right now had they operated once the swelling etc. from the initial injury happened.

Panthers to Send 11 Representatives to Ohio St Pro Day
OnlyPantherFaninMaine replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
Can’t recall ownership attending Pro Days very often in the past… Dave and Nicole are within their right to attend as team owners but please leave football decisions to football people. -
Panthers sign Vonn Bell
OnlyPantherFaninMaine replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Bet we see Chinn put on 10-15lbs in this defense and be a game wrecker along the line of scrimmage moving forward. Needs to be involved in the run game and rushing the passer on blitz packages. -
Brian Burns Extension Up Next
OnlyPantherFaninMaine replied to thunderraiden's topic in Carolina Panthers
Get it done. He’s going to blow up in this 3-4 scheme. If we can find another potential 10-sack guy for this defense, Burns will be racking up 15+ a season. -
All in on Stroud here. Clearly the most naturally gifted thrower in the draft. Deadly accurate, quick release, and enough arm strength to make every throw with prototypical size to boot. I’m running that card to the podium on draft night.

Uniforms definitelyneed an updated refresh. They’ve been largely the same for the most part since the mid-90s. We are due.

Met Adrian year’s back at UCLA’s pro day and spent a few minutes chatting him up. Came off much more personable and real than his buddy Keim at the time… love the hire!

Kamara won’t play a full season this year.

Came away very impressed. Really intrigued to see how he puts the pieces together and gets the defense firing on all cylinders.

Video replays of these available anywhere? Not seeing them on the team site or app currently.

Missed this in the shuffle… does anyone know if Frank will be calling plays in Carolina or will that be the duty of his OC hire?

Campen and Tabor being retained
OnlyPantherFaninMaine replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Great news. Let’s get some coordinators now. -
Probably been discussed already but not wanted to look back in this thread. I was watching the Herd this morning and Colin went out to dinner with Sean Payton last night in LA. He was ranting about Payton’s stories about Bill Parcells etc. and moved into how someone like Sean needs to assess owners and ownership groups just like he would a roster. Colin went into some owners being better than others and I couldn’t help but wonder what Payton said to Colin in that conversation about Tepper… can’t imagine Tepper’s reputation around the league is very good at the moment after the Rhule saga and pitfalls of the practice stadium.
