  1. Oh how I've missed the "pick is in" chime sound.
  2. Before you even made your point about Brown and his production in college you mentioned concern over Dorsett's size. That is all I was alluding to when I mentioned Antonio Brown. Their similarities in size/stature. That is it. I wasn't discussing anything about their college careers or how Dorsett may translate his skills in the NFL. I was simply mentioning Brown's name as a reason I'm not worried about Dorsett's durability/size. But yes, now that you mention it...I do believe Dorsett is worth a first round pick. Just because he wasn't asked to run the entire route tree in his offense and was the go-to deep threat doesn't mean he is a one trick pony or lacks the ability to run other routes. He is extremely fast and quick in and out of his breaks and would give any corner nightmares trying to cut on a dime to stay on his hip. All accounts from his Pro Day state he impressed all in attendance with his route running ability and hands. Lets also not pretend Brown was facing top competition in college while playing at Central Michigan in the Mid-American Conference. Dorsett was facing NFL corners in the ACC on a weekly basis and played his senior year with a true freshman at QB in an offense that ran first and gave the rock to Duke Johnson 20+ carries a game. I think his game compliments Kelvin's tremendously well...we need a deep threat and a receiver that can run after the catch and turn small gains into home runs.
  3. Your initial statement expressed concern that Dorsett can't or may not be able to hold up physically in the NFL due to his size. I brought up Antonio Brown because they are the exact same size and Brown has been able to handle the punishment in the league despite being on the smaller side. I didn't realize we were even discussing college production or any sort of other comparisons outside of size alone since you expressed a concern about his durability.
  4. What does any of that have to do with his size and whether or not he can hold up in the NFL?
  5. Makes sense. Cooks has him crushed in the production department but like you said, stats aren't everything and don't tell the whole story. Dorsett had a true freshman playing QB while Cooks had a future NFL draft pick in Mannion I believe. Also, Miami's offense seemed to go through Duke Johnson more than anything. Not sure what the Oregon State offense looked like with Cooks but I'd have to think he was the focal point of that group his last year. I think Dorsett is pretty similar in ability and skill set even though he may not have been asked to be the jack of all trades receiver there. They primarily had him stretching the field but I've watched 6 games of his and he looks like he can do it all.
  6. @rlopezwfaa: Dallas Cowboy Greg Hardy's Bentley stuck in high water in Dallas flash flood. http://t.co/i0P1Q3tSKx Rough week for Greg.
  7. That is one thing I don't quite understand: nearly this entire board had a love affair with Cooks prior to last draft and now nobody is talking Dorsett as a legitimate option at 25. I think he is high on the radar right now and very likely he's available at 25.
  8. Not sure to be honest. I think we really like him and Agholor if we go receiver in the first. Slim to no chance of either being in the board at 57. Agholor is too polished and NFL ready and Dorsett just has too good of physical traits and is dynamic enough to make an impact immediately. Dorsett mentioned that Proehl told him when they met/ worked out that he was what this offense was missing. Some people may look at either of them as a reach but they would likely both start at receiver from day 1 along with Kelvin. I'm not so sure that can be said about any of the tackles at 25. Gettleman said himself we needed to get faster and they fit the bill along with filling a massive hole at WR #2. Dorsett reminds me of Brandin Cooks with a ceiling likeAntonio Brown while Agholor is a mix between Maclin and Reggie Wayne. Both the types of receivers that compliment Kelvin really well.
  9. Miami WR Philip Dorsett coming up soon on Path to the Draft. Carolina has expressed interest in the blazing receiver and remember how much we liked Cooks. Similar skill sets and big play ability. He would help make this offense dynamic.
  10. Florio reporting Hardy called out Coleman about his lack of effort in conditioning drills.
  11. @RapSheet: Pitt OT TJ Clemmings had a stress fracture in his foot discovered on a team visit, sources says. He didn’t feel pain, didn’t know it existed
  12. Bring on Barca. I like that the second leg is in Munich again. Our backs will have their hands full. Hopefully some guys can get healthy in a hurry. What's the latest on Schweinsteiger, Ribery, and Robben? And poor Holger Badstuber... guy has the worst luck with injuries.
  13. I don't necessarily agree. At a crucial point in the playoff game against Seattle we had Bersin the primary target on the field in the red zone against that secondary. That was partly because of Shula, and partly because we are devoid of talent at the WR position. We absolutely need a skill position player that can turn a small gain into an explosive play/touchdown from anywhere on the field. We need a deep threat and a speed threat desperately in this offense. Part of the reason I like Dorsett/Agholor/Perriman the most at 25. Devin Smith in the second fits the bill but I think we would have to trade up for him. Our offense has lacked that dominant athlete to make explosive plays and make defenses feel threatened in the passing game. Kelvin needs a target across from him that defenses pay an equal amount of attention to every snap to open things up for the running game and Olsen as well.
  14. Not a big Peat fan. Would prefer the trio of Humphries, Devin Smith, and Duke Johnson.
  15. Want. I'd be cool with Dorsett at 25. He brings that speed we need and is polished as a route runner. He isn't just a deep threat. Has the ability to turn short crossing routes and screens into an explosive play.
  16. Beauty goals from Thiago, Boateng, and Lewandowski. World class service on each.
  17. Bayern! Allianz is rocking in Munich tonight. Porto didn't stand a chance.
