Wasn't that the Super Bowl where the Chiefs O line almost got Mahomes literally killed on the field? -
Attended my first Panthers game in 4 years
Panther'sBigD replied to Ja Rhule's topic in Carolina Panthers
North Carolina is a great state with tons of great cities. Anyone bashing them is dealing with some sort of personal inadequacies. The place you live is not a replacement for a personality. Cough, cough, @Still Brooklyn. -
I'm finally there. #FIREMATTRHULE I really wanted to give the guy a shot. Such a bummer. Oh well, my winter just got a lot more productive.

Dream scenario: He takes the job, keeps Cam and choreographs unique end zone celebrations for every offensive skill player. -

Dane Brugler Mock Draft 1.0 (from The Athletic)
Panther'sBigD replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
A scout for the Steelers lives in the Charlotte area. I'm sure their scouting department is well acquainted with Sam. I hate the Steelers, but that would be a great place for him to end up. As long as Ben only mentors him on football, and not on any of his extracurriculars. -

For Sam Howell's sake, I hope he doesn't go top 15. I hope he goes to a team with a good QB he can develop behind. -

Take the best Offensive lineman available. If this is a particularly deep O line draft, then trade away some future picks to get some more now. Stop reaching for QBs, build an Oline that a QB could take a short nap behind and then you can either attract a good FA QB or go draft one in 23. -
Fitterer might already be looking for Rhule's replacement. You never know.

How does a team just keep getting worse and worse?
Panther'sBigD replied to ladypanther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Since when has “suck ass until you’re fired so you can take a coveted college HC spot” been a realistic career strategy? -
Meanwhile our defensive guys are having to try rushing the passer while dragging a Dolphins lineman behind them. Ridiculous. fug automating fast food. We need to automate officiating.

Reffing has been horribly one sided today. The Panthers are playing like trash, but these phantom holding calls seem targeted. -

Everyone not named McCaffrey looks completely shocked when the ball comes their way. What the hell is going on!?! -

Is it still out in the middle of nowhere or have they developed the land around it? -
Should have bought stock in Apple back in the 80's. When we drafted Horn no one knew about Gilmore or Henderson becoming available for what we got them for. Jaycee was playing like a true shutdown corner before he broke his foot. He's the real deal. They're going to probably let DJ walk in FA, resign Gilmore and keep developing Henderson. We'll have a HOFer on one side mentoring two 1st rounders on the other side. The backfield will be locked down.

The constant shuffling can't be easy to deal with. Injuries and dearth of talent has him hot-swapping linemen to different positions and none of them have had time to gel in a set position other than perhaps Moton. The longer this goes on, the more I realize how spoiled we were with Ryan Kalil at center for all of those years. He really held things together.

Saban and Spurrier are/were bullies. You can't bully millionaires like you can college kids on scholarships. Rhule got buy-in from kids who had the chance to leave the dumpster fires he took over, and most of them stayed for the turnaround. I don't know if the Rhule experiment will work, but I get why Tepper signed on for it, and I think it's way premature to call it a failure.
-
See my earlier post. Also, that contract is a rounding error to someone like Tepper. He's not sticking with Rhule because he's worried about wasting money. He's thinking mid-term/long-term rather than short-term.
-
Edit: Damn, I forget that being 40 is old now, and half of my life was in another century. Weird. Still, upon further review, and looking past the fact that winning a Super Bowl straight out of college coaching is ridiculous bar, McVay has taken his team to a SB, Harbaugh took his team to a SB, Carroll took his team to multiple SBs after a failed HC stint. It appears evident that Tepper is trying something different with Rhule and Co. Letting them learn/fail on the job and grow with their team rather than plugging in an NFL retread. I think it could work, but it'll take more than 1.5 years. Jimmy Johnson. LOL.

There were other threads vying for Dumbest Angry Rhule Take today, but you just put this one over the top. Congrats.

I KNOW RIGHT?!?! How is it that David Tepper can't understand business the way, *checks notes* "Eazy-E" message board poster does?!?!! You should be running this team! Come on, man! Listen to yourself.

Yikes. Cam threw for a TD and ran for a TD on his first two series back from sitting on the couch. Joey, on what, his fifth team this year, managed to not miss his XPs and not shank a 30 yard field goal? Whatever makes him feel better I guess. We all know the sports psychologist couldn't do it.

He said our defense has struggled with other big, physical lines. I was paraphrasing. -

Snow hasn’t figured out how to scheme against big physical offensive linemen. He said as much earlier in the week. Our defense is getting mauled and he doesn’t seem to have an answer for it. Such a bummer.
