  1. You're looking at this all wrong. Tom Brady CAN'T retire; his ego won't let him. He's going to play until coaches will no longer play him. I fully support him playing as long as he wants to. It's going to be glorious to see him shoved off into the sunset.
  2. This place has been overrun by a certain type of poster. As owner, if Tepper doesn't field a winning team, he's depriving them of that feeling of superiority over another fandom that they need to have. It's like withholding drugs from a junkie, and it makes them lash out. If they can't have that winning feeling, then they're going to entertain themselves by doom posting.
  3. Agreed. The two aren't really comparable. These coaches/assistants making lateral moves are making low six figures if that in many cases, and build their resumes based on the coaching tree they fall under. Meanwhile it doesn't matter nearly as much what coach a player plays for, and any decent FA is making millions per season.
  4. I would say long game would/should be let Fitterer wheel and deal us some additional picks in this year's draft since it's loaded with O line talent. Suck through one more season and give the new oline a trial by fire, while probably ending up top ten in the 2023 draft where we can draft a QB. Oh, and get a real NFL HC.
  5. If we trade away multiple draft picks and starters, would we have enough cap room to go on a shopping spree to replace them with free agents? Or would we be forced to field a team of scrubs, particularly on the oline after an oline rich draft, with a generational talent/sex pest under center?
  6. I get a real kick out of people who brag about a bunch of unverifiable nonsense on anonymous message boards. Thanks for the laugh.
  7. Right, they're worried about the wrong 'integrity.
  8. LMAO. "Public confidence in the integrity of outcomes." GTFOHWTBS! The only people with any confidence in the integrity of the outcomes of major sporting events are complete morons. I love that you think(possibly correctly) that the #1 rule told to every player beyond high school is, "Never do anything to undermine gamblers' confidence in the integrity of our sport."
  9. Why are some of you getting SO emotional over the Panthers? This is supposed to be fun. If it's not, just take a break!
  10. Calvin Ridley isn't a victim. He broke the rules and should be punished. It is still fuged up for the NFL to pretend to have any integrity when they look the other way on things much worse. Just suspend the guy and move on without all of the grandstanding.
  11. I hate the Falcons as much as the next guy, but this is ridiculous. Ridley gets suspended for a year for a $1,500 bet, prompting Roger Goodell to say this poo: "Your actions put the integrity of the game at risk, threatened to damage public confidence in professional football, and potentially undermined the reputations of your fellow players throughout the NFL." What a hypocritical piece of poo. The NFL doesn't have any integrity to risk. I don't remember him ever coming out against any of the wife beaters or the drunk drivers or the owners getting hand jobs at massage parlors with a statement this strong.
  12. You guys have gotten hysterical. Seek help.
  13. Ryan Kalil? Because Matt Kalil had one good season and sucked for the rest of his career. Norwell has played well, just not up to his ridiculous contract. Matt Kalil just cashed a check.
  14. This eugenics/phrenology mess has to stop. Unless it benefits us that is. I am in the minority that thinks that Rhule no longer has complete control, and Fitterer will be calling the draft this year. Would make sense if both guys are on the hot seat, to let them have some control over their own destinies without being anchored to one another. Hopefully he can capitalize on some dumb passes that other teams make this time, rather than squandering picks on long snappers.
  15. If Fitterer were somehow able to get us one of the stud o linemen and trade back up into the bottom of the first to get Sam, that would be my ideal draft. He has the tools, and I think he'd flourish as the QB in his hometown. I'd be interested to see where he falls in McAdoo's QB rankings.
  16. If we'd known then how valuable Ryan Kalil would be to our success over his career here, vs. that of Jon Beason's, who was our first round pick, and played up to that level for us, I think we would have all chosen Kalil over Beason. If Linderbaum could be that kind of 10 year starter for us, I think it's worth more than a 50/50 shot at a freak defensive athlete, especially when we have freak defensive athletes, but can't move our offense.
  17. Rapoport's tweets are for marketing purposes more than anything. Nice shout out to the sports management firm right at the bottom of his last tweet. It's just more obvious when it's our players they're gassing up undeservedly.
  18. They got rid of the statue of The Mister because of Tepper's ego, not because of him sexually harassed his staff for decades. That was just a PR excuse for Tepper to move it to 'protective storage.'
  19. If we're not going to get a starting LT, and can't trade down, then I'm totally on board with Hamilton. Pairing him with Chinn would be huge.
  20. Don't forget TD. I still remember being at camp the year we drafted TD, and seeing him absolutely clobbering tryout players, but not other starters.
  21. I'm actually really interested in seeing how this experiment plays out. It's fascinating to watch, and while I would love it if the team were instead actively competing for a Super Bowl, it will be really interesting to see if Rhule can salvage things, or if he'll get shitcanned. It's just a game, it's not real life, at least not for any of us. Edit: I'll also say that historically, when talented OCs are over-promoted to Head Coach, they typically rediscover success once they're bumped back down to their area of expertise. I really hope that happens for McAdoo, and I believe there's a strong chance it will. I think he's betting on himself by taking a position in a lame duck coaching staff. Hopefully it pays off for him and us.
  22. An offensive lineman focused draft similar to the defensive draft they had two years ago.
