I was at the Panthers vs Patriots SuperBowl in Houston and will never forget the streaker on the football field that went from the Panthers sideline toward the Patriots sideline just before the second half started . All of us fans had special Super Bowl cushions at our seats with a pouch in front containing a program and a little radio/headset. As soon as I set down in my seat for the second half, the excited radioo announcer came on the little radio wondering why one of the officials was taking his clothes off. Just then the naked fake official, who was the actual streaker, took off running, chased by security that had trouble gaining on him but finally he decked flat on his rear by a Patriots linebacker that close lined him.

I tried keying on Brady Christensen the entire game and the time Shaq Barrett beat him was the only time he got beat that i saw. Meanwhile, in a positive light, I saw Brady put Shaq Barrett flat on his back once and manhandle him or anyone else that he was responsible to block. Most of the pressure i saw from Tampa Bay came straight up the gut or on stunts.

I can see the headlines now. " Panthers Game So Bad It Made Fan Loses Their Mind."

ESPN suggests 2 QBs for 2022 for the Panthers...
KatsAzz replied to musicman's topic in Carolina Panthers
Exactly. There is just not that many high grade offensive lineman available to chose from in free agency! That is why the Panthers need to go heavy in this years draft for offensive linemen, even if they have to trade a good player our two to obtain more picks. -
Their games plans suck and their half time adjustments are worse and mostly nonexistent.

Sadly,you are probably correct.

We are DOOMED! Panthers expect Rhule back for 2022...WTF

That is a great post with detailed logic that makes a lot of sense but don't expect the current Panthers brain trust to do any thing that makes that much sense. -

Could Cam be 2022 Taysom Hill for the Panthers?
KatsAzz replied to musicman's topic in Carolina Panthers
You are probably correct. The home game Sunday may be the last time Cam will play here in front of the Panther fans. -
Could Cam be 2022 Taysom Hill for the Panthers?

That would work if the Panthers could Cam to agree . -

I could go along with signing Cam for 2 million or less but i question if he would be open to that type of a deal? -

The Panthers will already be paying Sam over 18 million next year, i doubt if they would be willing to pay an additional 10 to 12 million for a situation quarterback. -
Sam Darnold may no longer be the guy for the job for the Panthers, but the team did exercise his fifth-year option for 2022. With this being the case, he at least deserves a longer look once he can return from his injury. Ideally, the Panthers could just cut ties. But they made the decision to commit and must live with it now. Cam Newton is not the same player and his is the toughest reason of all for Panthers fans to accept. Newton is just not the same player he was back when he was MVP and took the team to the Super Bowl. He was beaten out by Mac Jones in New England and there is a reason the Panthers moved on in the first place. It is easy to think resigning Newton would ensure he turns the team around like he has done in the past. However, he only threw for eight touchdowns in 15 games last season. Add in the reality of showing up next year on a team facing so much needed to rebuild, he is just not the elite guy for the job.

Skip Bayless “the Carolina panthers are a clown show”
KatsAzz replied to philw5289's topic in Carolina Panthers
It is a low point for our team and hurts to know that the "Clown" Skip Bayless was right when he called the Panthers a "Clown Show". -
That is true but Tepper like most NFL owners makes most of his money from another business, so owning an NFL football team is usually a part-time job. I feel that all the good NFL owners delegate to a team President, who is responsible for running the team on a day-to-day basis. However, there are still things the owner has to take a “hands-on” approach to: Strategic planning.

You are 100% correct. But a whole lot of people on the Huddle said they wanted a win to create a winning culture going forward . Well,as you pointed out, that winning culture cost us the chance to get QB Justin Herbert, the real deal and a franchise type player.

Don't be to sure that no NFL team will take Sam. If the Panthers put the right creative package together, which would probably involve them eating part of his salary and different player swaps, a possible deal could be worked out with the right trading partner.

Cam Newton is now top 25 in all time Rushing Touchdowns
KatsAzz replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
Cam Newton is a good quarterback but is he Hall of Fame worthy? That is a great question that will only be answered in time. There’s no debating that Cam was a good quarterback because he was. Not only was he a good passer, even though he often had problems being accurate, but he really frustrated defenses with his legs, rushing for over 500 yards in six of his first seven seasons. He was a lot of fun to watch, but with his career winding down, many of us on the Huddle are now asking the famous question — " Is he good enough to get into the Hall of Fame someday?" For one, it’s not the end all, be all, but championships talk, especially for quarterbacks, and Cam has zero on his professional resumé. He led the Panthers to Super Bowl 50 in the 2015 season but they lost to the Broncos and he was heavily criticized for not diving on a loose fumble, which proved costly. Secondly, Cam's numbers aren’t all that impressive in all honestly. He’s only thrown for more than 25 touchdowns once in his career and he did so in the 2015 season where he threw 35 touchdowns and rushed for another 10 . He won the league MVP in 2015 for his efforts and he definitely deserved it, but that was the only season where his numbers really popped. Third, as good as Cam was in his MVP season, he didn’t even throw for 4,000 yards that year and only threw for 4,000 yards just once (2011, his rookie season). He’s also had double-digit interceptions in every season except for 2019 and he only started two games that year. There is no doubting that Cam is a talented player and was a big name when he was playing at a high-level in the NFL, but when it comes time to discuss if he belongs in the Hall of Fame or not, that will remain to be seen by those doing the final selection.. -
That was what Tre Boston said then but his present opinion may be somewhat different. Just saying......

The fact that Payton, a rival division HC and staff are so much better than the Panthers HC and staff, makes it even more obvious that Rhue is not the Panthers answer long term and needs to go and take his staff with him.
-
I agree that Rhule does not know what he is doing but he did trash/blame Sam on numerous occasions. Rhule often said Sam makes good decisions when he has time but bad ones if he has to make quick ones.
-
When I first looked at his picture quickly he didn't appear to look dumb. Looking at it for a longer period the second time makes me think differently.

Rhule fan ? Hmmm!! I am surprised there is any out there!
