  1. Since the Panthers are at the bottom of the league in total offense, third-down conversion rate, big plays, 30th in red zone offense, and 29th in passing offense and yards per play, I would like to see them give Jacob Eason a shot at starting. It is obvious that the team is heading to finish near the bottom of the league this season and will be looking to select a QB in Round #1. Eason is probably not our answer as the starting QB the team sorely needs but with his rocket for an arm, he could bring some excitement to a team that is boring to watch. They have nothing to lose at this point and a lot to gain if Eason can show some of the talent and outstanding promise he had in high school and college before he was forced to move from school to school and several NFL teams for various reasons.
  2. Thank you for having one of the more logical posts on this topic. I can go along with the game plan to run the ball a lot to try keeping the score close. However, when the Panthers got down score wise, it was obvious to everyone that they needed to open the game up more by passing the ball.
  3. So true. Jonathan Stewart was mild mannered and soft spoken but tough as nails, not someone that Robbie would want to tangle with.
  4. P.J. is not NFL QB material, in my opinion. I will be glad when him and Rhules other suck ups are no longer on the team.
  5. I have to search my memory real hard to recall when watching the Panthers was enjoyable and felt like they had a decent chance of winning the football game.
  6. Robbie Anderson didn't get drafted because of his attitude, but the N.Y. Jets signed him as an undrafted receiver and got rid of him because of the same reason he wasn't drafted. Then Anderson comes to the Panthers and does the same thing. Perhaps the Cardinals think they have a better shrink. And with that being said, I wish them good luck because they may need it, dealing with him long term
  7. That just about sums it up nice and completely.
  8. I think Fowlers point was that Rhule is gone, which was a plus but nothing was revealed from Tepper that would indicate any type of future Panthers success..
  9. Matt Lombardi = Pass Game Coordinator. Yes, that proved to be one big joke.
  10. If we lose the rest of our games, while looking somewhat competitive, which would show future promise, I will be satisfied.
  11. Your statement sums it up nicely. ("Yet, each guy seems to play worse football in Carolina. Such a decline in performance has to be in large part due to coaching. The current staff is unable to get the most out of the players and put them in position to succeed on the gridiron." )
  12. The tight ends of the Panthers couldn't catch a pass if you soaked their hands in glue.
  13. Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports passes along, team owner David Tepper may be just fine waiting a year to see if Sean Payton entertains a return to coaching in 2023. While an official Panthers spokesperson didn’t want to speculate, at the risk of tampering since Payton is technically under contract with the New Orleans Saints through 2024, this is an expected response. Back in January, Saints general manager Mickey Loomis mentioned he was prepared to negotiate with teams regarding a potential Sean Payton trade, but discussions didn’t appear to get far, as the asking price will be “significant”. The cost for a Payton trade won’t suddenly go down in 2023 either, but maybe it’s a price the Panthers are willing to pay. For Payton, the chance to return to coaching in the NFC South, facing his old team twice per season might be the trigger that brings him back to the whistle.
  14. This was far cry from being a perfect win but still it was a win, so I will take it.
  15. Very true concise statements.
  16. I am predicting 9-8 as the high if Mayfield and CMC can stay healthy. 7-10 as the low if either are injured and out for a period of time.
  17. Obviously I'm pulling for Corral to become a long term quality starter. Odds may be against him but he's got the tools and the moxie to be successful. I think Corral will definitely end up being in the NFL for a long time, the only question is whether that will be as a quality back-up, or as a solid starter. I'd say his floor is a reliable back-up like Heinicke, and his ceiling is an above average starter like Carr. It's up to his work ethic as a player, and the development skills of our coaching staff, to see which one he becomes.
  18. Baker Mayfield becoming the starting QB was a move most everyone saw coming from the moment he became a Panther, the team just took a long time to make it official.
  19. The Panthers could try and sneak P.J. Walker onto the practice squad, which is risky considering how many other teams are desperate for better backups they can get cheap.
  20. Exactly. That is why they are letting him have equal reps in practice.
