Thanks for the heads up. I hadn't heard about Pittsburgh Penguins firing GM Ron Hextall and President of Hockey Operations Brian Burke this morning.

It is a comfort to hear Luke Kuechly speak highly of Bryce Young. Now we have to wait and see what happens. I have my own preference about which QB the Panthers should draft between Young and Stroud. However, I will trust our new fine coaches, who have more insight than I do, to make the right call, and will gladly support and abide by their decision.

You may have something there.I am checking now to see if the NFL will allow a QB to wear stilettos in a game. LOL

I Like the signing and his 4.28-second 40-yard dash speed will certainly be an added plus toward him making the 53 man roster.

We still have a ways to go putting the teams together, so here's wishing them success

How many current NFL QBs would you trade #1 overall for?

Darnell Washington visiting the panthers
KatsAzz replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
At 6'7" 270 Darnell Washington is built more like an offensive lineman and would be a great blocking TE but i feel he would be limited as a receiving TE. I personally view him as a 3rd Rd type player. -
Not doubting that Mo will be gunning for us......

Person: Richardson still in the conversation...if we trade down
KatsAzz replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
There is no way I would ever think about taking the 6'4" 244 lb, Florida QB, Anthony Richardson at # 1 or #2 but if the Panthers had stayed put at #9, I would have been comfortable with taking him there. -

If one takes time to do some filtering out, there is a ton of good information shared here on the Huddle. -

I thought from the get go the Panthers would select Bryce Young # 1 and then it seemed to swing to C.J. Stroud, who I liked, now most seem to think it is pointed back to Young. This has been almost enough to make ones head spin. -

The "Carolina Huddle" the eyes and ears of the NFL. LOL -
These test can only prove or evaluate so much, it is still how the player performs under actual game conditions that counts.

We have to have that win for sure.

Since I am a Stroud fan, even though I also like Young a lot, I would take that trade if I were the Panthers in a heart beat and never once look back.

https://www.houstontexans.com/news/young-the-choice-for-texans-at-2-overall-mock-draft-roundup-5-0 Young the choice for Texans at 2 overall? | Mock Draft Roundup, 5.0 Apr 03, 2023 at 12:22 PM Bryce Young is still the most-mocked player to the Texans at second overall in this year's NFL Draft. With 24 days until the Draft begins in Kansas City, the latest round of mock drafts still have the 2021 Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback headed to Houston. The Alabama quarterback was mocked to Houston on 34 of the 45 (75.6%) more prominent mock drafts surveyed by HoustonTexans.com. Two weeks ago, Young was also the choice at two overall. We will release the Mock Draft Roundup for the 12th overall pick tomorrow. The Texans have 12 picks in the 2023 NFL Draft, and 10 more in 2024. Young appeared in 34 games for the Crimson Tide the last three seasons and threw 80 touchdowns to just 12 interceptions in that span. Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud was projected as the Texans' second overall pick in 10 (22.2%) different mock drafts. Stroud played in 26 games the past three seasons, tossing 85 touchdowns and 12 picks.

The Texans really want Bryce Young. Since I like C.J. Stroud, it would be a win for me if they swapped picks with the Panthers to obtain Young at #1 , leaving the Panthers to select Stroud at #2 plus an added draft selection or two.
-
Exactly!!!

Young's built sturdier than Stroud per BMI

I like the way you are thinking outside the box here. LOL

I could be wrong but I felt the Panthers earlier plan was to take at # 1 Bryce Young but as the scouting and evaluation process proceeded they began to like C.J. Stroud a little more than Young.

I am sick of seeing his Peyton Manning's ugly face on most all the NFL game commercials. I say a little of Peyton Manning goes a long way.
