My guess is that Hornets Forward Miles Bridges will soon be history in Charlotte.

FROM A RECENT ESPN ARTICLE: Given the absurdity of quarterback contracts, which have risen every single year over the past decade or so, the league is reportedly starting to wonder if it makes sense to have a separate NFL salary cap just for the most important position on the field. That’s according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, who detailed what he’s hearing from sources as the league begins conversations about a new CBA. This is a pretty genius idea from the league. However Fowler points out, it will be difficult to get done because of the complexities of the NFL salary cap, which is already difficult to understand and for teams to maneuver. But, given the emphasis on having a franchise quarterback, giving teams more money to spend on that specific position is at least worth discussing. Let’s face it, every single team has to make difficult decisions each offseason based off of the salary cap number at the time. We’ve seen future Hall of Famers at numerous positions be cut to save money to sign a quarterback, like Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas in Seattle in order to allocate more cash to Russell Wilson. While this has always been part of the league, it’s smart that the NFL is at least analyzing what a separate salary cap for just passers would look like. Who knows if it actually comes to fruition or not, though.

There is no doubting that our defense needs to be improved a lot. -
Talking heads are just doing what they do best and that's talk. Now, let's go out and prove them wrong.

I agree with you 100%. At first I was all aboard on the Panthers drafting Ohio State's C. J. Stroud because of his size but after doing a lot of research I determined that Alabama's Bryce Young is at least his equal. Both QB's have outstanding but different elite talents that I feel balance out, so it will probably come down to the system the Panthers want to install long term to determine which QB they select. No matter which outstanding QB the Panthers select I feel it will be a win-win for them and the fans.

Todd McShay, NFL draft analyst: . I've heard some buzz that Carolina likes Young at No. 1, but like I said Wednesday, the Panthers are going to put out a lot of smokescreens to keep the competition off the scent. And frankly, they are likely far from a final decision on who they want with the top draft pick. I know this: Carolina is blessed to have a really tough decision on its hands, because there are some really good quarterbacks atop this class.

Mike Tannenbaum, NFL front office insider: After trading up to No. 1, I'd be going all-in on Young. It was a tough call for me, and I just narrowly picked him over Stroud. But while Young's 5-foot-10, 204-pound size is a concern, his talent is unquestionable. He's the guy I'd lean on to turn the passing game around in Carolina. Newton: Levis and Richardson still are being evaluated, so they're still technically in the running, but according to sources with knowledge of the search, the Panthers' choice is between Stroud and Young. The biggest difference between the two is size, which took up a considerable amount of coach Frank Reich's time at Tuesday's annual media breakfast at the owners meetings. Young is 5-foot-10 and 204 pounds. Stroud is 6-3, 214. Reich made it clearer than he has at any point during the process that this is more about durability than height, and that durability is a concern with Young due to his stature, though he missed only one game at Alabama.

Dan Graziano, NFL Insider: The Panthers would have you believe they moved up from No. 9 to No. 1 in the draft without knowing which quarterback they're taking. As you'd expect, some people don't believe that, and a very unscientific poll of sources to whom I spoke at the 2023 NFL annual meeting tells me most people believe they know who they are taking. But Panthers coach Frank Reich was adamant Tuesday that they're going through their process and considering each of the top four quarterback prospects equally. T

One year after selecting him in the third round of the 2022 NFL draft, the Carolina Panthers are ready to cut bait on Matt Corral, according to NFL Network's Mike Giardi. Giardi reported Monday the Panthers "would be willing to move" Corral and that the "cost won't be high." The Charlotte Observer's Mike Kaye followed up to add Corral "isn't being actively shopped for a trade" but that "a good offer could lead to anything during this time of year." This comes after the Panthers traded up to the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 draft, a move that allows the franchise to select the top quarterback on its board.

https://sports.yahoo.com/mel-kiper-jr-explains-why-220249830.html Mel Kiper Jr. Explains Why Bryce Young Should Be The First Overall Pick In 2023 NFL draft Bryce Young has long been expected to be in the conversation for the first overall pick of the 2023 NFL draft. ESPN’s lead NFL draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. now makes his stance clear: Young should be the first pick. The Carolina Panthers will be the first team to select a player in the draft and Kiper believes the franchise has done enough in the 2023 offseason to make it the best possible landing spot for an impact player like Young. He also mentions Young’s 2022 college football season performance helped his draft projections. Without a superstar cast of skill position players, he was still one of the best players in the nation. Whether it be the Panthers or another team. An NFL franchise will be very happy with Young.

Like you and most hardcore Panthers fans, I had the same small dopamine hit when they acquired the # 1 draft pick. Presently, I am just happy believing the Panthers and us fans come out winners regardless of which QB they select, Alabama's Bryce Young or Ohio State's C.J. Stroud.

Goes by the nick name, "Dopie:. LOL

Yes they are very excitable. LOL

It is almost a given the Panthers will draft either Young or Stroud and going by their college performance both should be capable of being the starter if healthy.

Is it time to take the Falcons seriously?
KatsAzz replied to Ivory Panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
The joy of the NFL. is you never know from year to year. Almost any team has a chance if they catch lightning in a bottle. The Falcons have done that twice in 1998 and 2016. But couldn't sustain success after those years. That is why we N.F.L. fans keep watching and keep coming back. The NFL has the best product in all pro sports. What professional league can say that almost every team has a chance to win a championship every year. Only the NFL. Most pro sports only have a handful of teams that can win a championship. But every year the N.F.L. can get one team that wasn't expected to be in the Super Bowl. What other professional league can say that? The other leagues are more predictable. The NFL is not. That is why they are the number one sports league in America! -

It it always good to see a former Panthers player return home.

Valid point..

Yes, he was eating Henderson alive. I kept thinking about him when he use to play for the Panthers and thought, why did they let this tricky speedster get away.
