The Panthers added to their talented running back room Thursday, as Adam Schefter of ESPN confirmed that the team is signing undrafted free agent Darius Clark to a one-year deal. %7B© Provided by Panthers Wire Carolina Panthers Clark (6-foot-2, 210 pounds) was a standout RB at the HUB football camp earlier this month, where he caught the eye of offensive coordinator Joe Brady, who was among the NFL coaching personnel in attendance. HUB is a relatively new football camp designed to help collegiate players find opportunities with professional teams. Clark played college football at Newberry College, where he totaled 384 yards rushing, 264 receiving, and 397 on kick returns. The move may foreshadow the loss of veteran back Mike Davis, who is currently an unrestricted free agent after finishing the 2020 season tied for the league’s best in missed tackle rate per touch since 2019, according to PFF.

Glad to see us stop signing only one year deals that all come due at the same time.

https://www.yahoo.com/sports/analysis-panthers-score-upgrade-middle-203658815.html Jermaine Carter Jr. did a respectable-enough job at middle linebacker once Tahir Whitehead was finally benched last season. That said, Perryman has a far more impressive résumé, notably his skills around the ball.

Reddick was moved to inside linebacker out of college for a couple of reasons. He had elite athletic testing numbers at the combine, which projected him as a great cover guy, and at 6-foot-1 and 235 pounds he was smaller than a typical pass-rusher. But the mental aspect never clicked for Reddick, which is why the Cardinals made the last-ditch effort to put him back on the edge. While he will never be the towering presence of a player like Jones, Reddick has fit in perfectly as a versatile strongside linebacker. That's his natural position, that's where he wanted to play. That's his best fit in a defense, and he's been lights out. … He can rush. He can set an edge. He can drop into space. He is the prototype for our SAM 'backer in a defense.

Deshaun Watson has almost the same exact record with the Houston Texans since he got there as opposed to the four years before he got there, including 1-2 in the playoffs before he got there, and 1-2 in the playoffs since he’s been there… Watson is viewed by many people as one of the elite quarterbacks in the NFL, and there is no record to point that out. If you look at Aaron Rodgers, every year he’s healthy in the NFL with the exception of the year that Mike McCarthy got fired, his teams won 10 games. Same thing with Tom Brady, same thing with Drew Brees, same thing with ALL these guys… Watson somehow gets a pass, when no other quarterback gets a pass for their win/loss record. You can sit here and pound into the table that Watson is great and that he needs more help. Well, he might have gotten more help if he didn’t sign this gargantuan contract.. Watson is massively, MASSIVELY overrated… It’s really amazing how Teflon that dude is… Was it Bill O’Brien’s fault? Sure. It’s also Deshaun Watson’s. Deshaun Watson is NOT a top 10 quarterback. You are not a top 10 quarterback at 4-11.

Report: The Panthers are "locked on Watson"

The surprise is this team will be set back so far they will suck for years if they give up the farm to obtain Watson. -
Report: The Panthers are "locked on Watson"
KatsAzz replied to MVPccaffrey's topic in Carolina Panthers
I am against trading for Watson. Throwing in too much will leave the Panthers with him but not much else around him. It takes more than a quarterback to build something for the long haul and that is what our goal should be. -
Losing FB Alex Armah was no great lose in my opinion. I feel sure we would have kept him if he had been part of our future plans.

Weatherly Admits to Getting “Complacent” After Signing with Carolina

I wonder what this contract will do to the Cowboys salary cap going forward?

NBC's Peter King wont be suprised if Mac Jones goes ahead of Lance

Agree!! This post sums it up very nicely,in my opinion. -
I fully agree!

Should the Panthers be interested in Watson? Absolutely, but there needs to be a reasonable limit on what they will give up to get him. Three first-round picks, Teddy Bridgewater and Christian McCaffrey? Maybe so, but throwing in too much will leave Carolina with Watson but not much else around him. It takes more than a quarterback to build something for the long haul.

The one sure thing we can all count on is that Watt will not be playing for the Panthers in 2021.

Ranking Eight Potential QB Trade Targets for Panthers
KatsAzz replied to KatsAzz's topic in Carolina Panthers
The rating on Gardner Minshew caught my eye and made me wonder if the Panthers were even checking him out. " Admittedly, there are other young QBs on this list who are superior athletes with a higher ceiling. That said, Minshew has enticing qualities and has made enough flashy throws to convince us that he can be a well above-average starter in the NFL. With the right pieces around him, he might even be a Pro Bowler. Trading for Minshew is exactly the kind of low-risk, potential high-reward move that championship teams make. There may be no other player who could offer this franchise more overall value in a trade." -

Stafford didn’t want to come to the Panthers
KatsAzz replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
"Stafford didn't want to come to the Panthers"? I have news for Stafford, i didn't want him to come here either, considering what we would have given up to obtain a 33 year, often banged up quarterback that would probably retire in three years. -
I could see our coaching staff getting Mitchell Trubisky to play to his full potential with the receivers we have, especially if we upgrade our offensive line.
