  1. I am going to get a #9 Matt Corral jersey as soon as they are available because i have a feeling he is going to be a feel good story and plays for the Panthers a long time.
  2. The Panthers should be patient with Matt Corral and let him develop at a pace that suits his learning curve. They have him for five years on fairly cheap contracts so there is no need to rush him along and impede what appears on the surface to be a promising career.
  3. Two thumbs down to Brady jumping ahead of people and calling games when he retires.
  4. I am sorry but i have to disagree with that assessment. Given a little development time i feel Matt Corral has the ability and skill set to be a very good starting QB in the NFL and i am glad we were able to draft him where we did. .
  5. I would love to see Anderson make this a triple Change. #1 Name change. #2 Jersey number change. #3 Change to another team.
  6. Tepper stated the following in a previous Charlotte Observer article : (“At some point, that building will fall down. Like I said before and I’ll say it again, I’m not building a stadium alone.” ) ( “The community is going to have to want it. If I’m a third, and the community’s a third, and eventually in the future, personal seat license (owners) are a third, or whatever we do, it’s a partnership." ) ( “If people don’t want it, they don’t want it. I’m not going to force it on anybody; I don’t want to force it on anybody.” ) Read more at: https://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/nfl/carolina-panthers/article251979323.html#storylink=cpy
  7. The fact TE Josh Babicz worked his tail off and paid the price to keep on progressing, getting better and better speaks highly of him. If these same traits translate to training camp and the coaches like what he brings to the table we may have gotten a steal by signing him.
  8. (" Joe Montana was 6'2", 200 lb. QB taken in 1979 in the 3rd round (pick 82nd, 4th QB) by the 49ers.") Here's hoping we have half the luck with Matt Corral as the 49ers did with Joe Montana.
  9. ( 2. (Icky/Corral) even though we may have to endure another season of Darnold we get to keep future assets/picks and young players. Much less known with Corral as a franchise QB but you keep your cap/draft picks for the future. ) I could not have been more pleased (or surprised) with how our 2022 NFL Draft turned out.
  10. It is way to early to tell how the 2023 NFL Draft will play out but by the end of the this season we should be able see the postions that the Panthers need to address in the draft and the top players available more clearly. Going by past history the current "Way to Early" draft boards willl be changing constantly and will wind up looking nothing like the present ones, so it is hard for me to spend a lot of time checking them out. I feel we will be picking around # 10, give or take a postion or 2. This should allow us to get a top prospect at the most needed postion or make a move back to gain more picks, a win-win..
  11. Thehe Panthers have the most cap space in the NFL at approximately $30.1 million and would be able to sign Clowney if they are interested. If Clowney could be signed to a team friendly contract it would be a welcomed addition to the Panthers defense that just lost its leading sack leader from a year ago. He is a three-time Pro Bowler fresh off a 2021 campaign where he totaled 9.0 sacks, 19 quarterback hits and 11 tackles for a loss over 14 outings. Whats not to like? .
  12. The problems Corral had as a young college student doesn't seem to concern the Panthers coaches and management. Rhule even said he would've drafted him earlier if he got the chance and said he appreciates his openness about his struggles. { “Everyone in their life goes through things, and we do a really good job of trying to delineate between people who have an issue or problem that can’t be overcome, with people who are going through something in their lives,’’ Rhule said. “I don’t know about you, but when I was 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, I certainly went through things." } { “I really respect people who have been through things and are powerful enough, and open enough, to talk about them, and Matt is definitely one of those guys." }
  13. Let's face it, the Panthers are a little shy of being a playoff team in 2022 so throwing money that will be needed later to develop the team on a QB that may or may not be slightly better than Sam will be a waste of resources. Since the team is stuck with Sam they need to ride out the last year of his contract while Corral develops then regroup and hope the past mistakes the Panthers management made will serve as a lesson and the team can move forward.
  14. 15. Would love have watched the video but looks like it is unavailable.
  16. It's a pivotal year for Rhule, who likely wouldn't survive another season of struggles. But he insisted he's not worried about his job status or the pressure of needing to win big. { "I've said it to you guys all along; if I make this about me, then I'm not the coach I say I am, don't believe in what I believe in," Rhule said at the NFL Scouting Combine, via the team's official website. } {"I'm trying to get the Combine done as well as possible. If you're a coach in the league and you don't feel the pressure to win every year, if you don't feel like, 'I've got to improve the team,' then what kind of coach are you? I want to make the team better." } { "And I want the fans to have something. It's been a while since we've had a team that's better than what we are right now. The only pressure I feel is to be really really good for our players, for our coaches, for our fans. So I think we've done the staff right, now we'll do the Combine right. Free agency, we've re-signed a couple of our own players. Now we'll continue to do that. Be active as much as can in the free-agent market, and hopefully have a good draft." }
  17. https://www.yardbarker.com/nfl/articles/panthers_could_still_add_veteran_qb/s1_127_37462238?fbclid=IwAR0-JsCnUOxZjYzWRqvkmAaxxqcZIPoi79XZm7yhBysyutqN9K_gGU4Enro Panthers could still add veteran QB Originally posted on Larry Brown Sports By Steve DelVecchio | Last updated 5/2/22 The Carolina Panthers added quarterback depth when they drafted former Ole Miss star Matt Corral in the third round, but that does not necessarily mean they are going to stop pursuing veteran options. Albert Breer of The MMQB wrote in his weekly column on Monday that he expects the Panthers to “kick around the idea” of adding a veteran quarterback. They have already been linked to Baker Mayfield and Jimmy Garoppolo. Nick Foles, who was released by the Chicago Bears at his request last week, is another name to watch. Some people were surprised when the Panthers did not use the No. 6 overall pick on a quarterback. In hindsight, that looks like the right move. They instead took Ickey Ekwonu, who was considered by many to be the best offensive lineman in the draft. Carolina was then able to land one of the top QB prospects in the third round. A report after the first round claimed the Panthers were intensifying their pursuit of Mayfield. However, the fact that they got Corral should allow them to be more patient. They are unlikely to pay a steep price for any veteran QB whether it is Mayfield, Garoppolo, Foles or someone else. The Panthers still have Sam Darnold, who is obviously not a long-term solution for them. The question is whether they consider any of the aforementioned veterans to be a significant upgrade. Mayfield’s already limited trade market may have dried up over the weekend. If the Cleveland Browns are intent on trading him, they will likely have to get creative.
  18. True!! The Cowboys Jerry Jones and the Raiders late Al Davis are prime examples of NFL owners that often made mistakes by being a micromanager.
  19. No wonder the Panthers "Chickened" out drafting him when they had the chance. ha ha
