The 49ers may not be a one and team in the playoffs but I cannot for the life of me see them have a long run in it.

This will certainly be a feel good story if QB Brock Purdy, a 7th rd draft choice, finds continued success in the NFL. Purdy is fortunate to be on a playoff caliber team that has a QB friendly system, one that has helped him to this point. He is still at a very young stage in his NFL career, so it will be interesting, to say the least, to see how he trends in the future.

Chuba Hubbard came across as being well spoken, very likable and is not a bad running back.

This has all the makings of a low scoring affair, especially if Pickett doesn’t take the field for the Steelers. Pittsburgh struggled vs the running game of Baltimore last week and it should be more of the same vs the running attack of the Panthers on Sunday. Panthers are favored in the betting line by 2.5 points I predict Panthers 17 Steelers 10

I agree!!! I think that not answering the door might have been a good decision!!!

Regardless of what you may think of Florida QB Anthony Richardson, I will be surprised if he doesn't get drafted in the 1st rd and earlier than some expect.

The same old time told story, "Money Talks".

Considering how big Paul Silas was and how small George Shinn was, I cannot say I blame Shinn for avoiding Silas, who was probably pretty upset

By the time the Panthers go on the clock in the 1st rd. of the 2023 NFL Draft, top rated QB's Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud and Will Levis will probably already have been selected. The good news is that QB Tanner McKee and Anthony Richardson could still be there and of the 2, my choice would be Anthony Richardson who seems to have a higher upside of untapped talent.

It would be nice to stay below pick # 10 in the 1st rd. but it would also be nice to be in the playoffs, the sceniro I would prefer.
-
Exactly. The excitement of a playoff game is on another level all together.

Thinking of scalping for tickets this Sunday....
KatsAzz replied to Dingo_ate_Babies's topic in Carolina Panthers
If it is digital, what would the scalper have to do to transfer the ticket to someone else?. -
The Panthers need to re-sign Foreman, a 27 year old power back with little wear on his body that will be playing behind a good offensive line. I believe a 2 Year $10 Million Deal gets Foreman re-signed. NFL teams in general, will usually not value a 27 Year old RB so highly as to give out big contracts,

Hornets vs Pistons: The return of the Ball
KatsAzz replied to jayboogieman's topic in Charlotte Hornets
Hmmm!!! Yes!! -
The Ravens made a big mistake when they let Bozeman go, when they could have resigned him at a team friendly price. He selected by the Ravens in the sixth round (215th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft. He spent the first two years of his career at left guard before moving to his natural position at center last season where he started all 16 games.

I would like for the Panthers to retain Steve Wilks as head coach but if they don't, Ken Dorsey, Buffalo Bills first-year offensive coordinator would be my choice. Plus, Tepper is offensive minded so this hiring might suit him also. Ken Dorsey is doing an excellent job with Josh Allen and company so far, Miami Dolphins loss and post-game temper tantrum notwithstanding. He’s also young, has a relatively well-known name (especially in the South) from his time as QB of the Miami Hurricanes, and was with the Panthers for six seasons, including for Cam Newton’s MVP season and the team’s last Super Bowl appearance.

I fully agree!!!!

Steve Wilks has proved he has what it takes to be HC
KatsAzz replied to Verge's topic in Carolina Panthers
At this point Wilks is a part of the team’s DNA, and has been largely for the last decade. The players are responding to him, the team is swinging way above its weight class with mediocre talent, and there simply isn’t a deep pool of possible coaches to pull from. Wilks deserves a chance, a real one. An opportunity to get 2-3 years to build a franchise in his defensive image. It wouldn’t be a sexy hired that would garner lots of national buzz, but the best coaches rarely do when the dust settles. -
What if the team does nothing as you suggest and Corral proves in training camp he is not the answer, plus a recent drafted QB is not ready to start? There has to be a backup up plan before training camp and a veteran QB will have to be involved in the plan, whether it is Sam Darnold or some other free agent QB.
-
It would not be out of the question to sign the best free agent QB available and if there is still a QB left in the draft the Panthers like they can select him. This way the team would have a reliable free agent QB, plus two young ones to chose from or develop as the season progresses.
-
R.I.P. Paul Silas. He was probably the best coach the team ever had.
-
Only bring back Cam to address the team in a motivation speech or something along that line. I am regretfully afraid Cam's playing days are behind him,
-
I am not sure were the Panthers defense is ranked but i do know it has improved to the point it is very good and is young enough to get even better.

I am all in for trying to go to the playoffs and say to heck with a slow down to try obtaining lower draft choices that may not turn out as expected. I will take an aggressive, forward thinking playoff push, as opposed to a passive draft tanking process every time.
