Would you trade 9 for Fields - straight up?
KatsAzz replied to musicman's topic in Carolina Panthers
While I feel sure Bears GM Ryan Poles will do his homework on QB's Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud and Will Levis in the pre-draft process, I would be highly surprised if they would be willing to move on from Fields. -
You summed up my exact feeling very nicely.
-
Congratulations ladypanther, you looked in your crystal ball and correctly called the Chiefs winning on the last drive.
-
So would I if he is available.
-
Exactly!!! There is a limit on the amount a team can play one player and still be able to compete long term.
-
Exactly. Let Atlanta go get him. I had much rather the Falcons wreck their salary cap and give up much needed draft picks than the Panthers.
-
Young and tough is the way to go...
-
Last i looked the betting line was Eagles by 1.5. So, I suppose we will just have to sit back and let the game play itself out.

I agree and the fact Andy Reid is one of the all time great head coaches should make a difference.

Welcome back home Dom Capers ! Great to see him return to the Panthers as a senior defensive assistant.

Panthers hire Josh McCown as QB coach
KatsAzz replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I am all in on the hiring of Josh McCown as the Panthers new QB coach. McCown is highly respected for his QB knowledge and the ability to share it. -
I admit admit Bryce Young has skills but he sounds like an injury waiting to happen.
-
McAdoo gave the Head Coaches what they asked for, so if there is blame to be placed, it needs spread around.

The report on Matt Corral coming out was he was excellent in decision making. Played with good anticipation and awareness, processes the field quickly and has the arm strength, mobility and athleticism to improvise when needed and had shown more maturity as a passer. For what it's worth, the same reports said Corral fell in the NFL Draft to the Panthers due to alcohol, depression, unreliable behavior, all these were their opinion, not mine.

12 million in cap is a large hunk of money.
-
Yes,5 million sounds about right. I saw an earlier report that stated 5 million was also the same salary projected for Sam Darnold.
-
Great to see that Wilks has landed on his feet and quickly obtained a good job. The man is a class act in my opinion and I wish him nothing but the best.
-
If the Panthers did decide to bring back Sam Darnold as a bridge QB, the price should be fairly reasonable. However, if the Panthers want to bring in a higher-profile veteran name through free agency or the trade market, Derek Carr and Jimmy Garoppolo are two that could make sense. Likewise, obtaining Brissett would not be all that bad of a choice or decision.

Athletic mock from today Top 6 picks
KatsAzz replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
The writer of this article must cover the NBA or MLB because he is certainly not tuned into the NFL Draft. -
True .... Both could be a recipe for failure!
-
I will agree with that assumption as well.
-
The team needs wholesale trades and a vast shake up if they expect to ever be able to compete in the NBA.
-
After the NFL Combine gets thought with their evaluations, I look for some present high rated QB's to slip back a little while a few lesser ones move up .
-
If I was the Panthers G.M., Stroud is the only QB I would trade up for but I would not give up as much as the mock drafts indicated.
