  1. The main improvement I like pertaining to Tepper was stated in this article as follows: ("At least for now though, Tepper seems to have found a much better balance between "hands-on" and "intrusive". He's actually letting the football people do their job.").
  2. That is true! I don't see any Andrew Luck or Trevor Lawrence type QB in the draft that I would be willing to give up that many # 1 draft picks to get.
  3. NFL SCOUTING REPORT: SUMMARY Hooker is a quality prospect who has faced adversity during his college career but now seems in an ideal place to take the next step and really get the attention of NFL scouts. He possesses excellent athletic talent, has a strong arm, huge hands, and has the power to make all the requisite throws at the next level, he also is a decent runner who is always a threat on the move. However, Hooker is still a little raw as a player and needs to demonstrate he can become a more consistently nuanced player. Hooker was putting up good numbers prior to his ACL injury and finished the season with an impressive 123.9 NFL QB rating. Was outstanding in a 5 TD performance against Alabama although ran into a brick wall a few weeks later against Georgia. We expect Hooker to be a very solid draft prospect assuming he recovers from his torn ACL and has all the skills to become an eventual starter in the pros so long as he isn't rushed into action too soon.
  4. Do you have any idea who we might be able to get that we like?
  5. I think we all can agree that 45 million a year would be an outlandish demand. My question is, how many teams would be willing to step up, show interest and try to obtain Daniel Jones even at a much reduced salary?
  6. True and sadly it looks like UNC will be N.I.T. bound.
  7. I wouldn't worry to much about C.J.'s supposed personality weakness. I recall the N.F.L. Scouts were reporting that the then, Oregon QB Justin Herbert leads by example but is not a commanding presence. We all know how good he has turned out.
  8. "Bad News Anderson" would have been an ideal choice.
  9. I would be satisfied if the Panthers sign Derek Carr, with the plan to make him the permanent starter and Draft Levis or Richardson at # 9 to develop and takeover when Carr leaves.
  10. Thanks for the heads up. This could bear watching.
  11. R.I.P. Actor Richard Belzer
  12. Let the excitement begin. My congratulations are extended to Tepper, Fitterer, Dan Morgan and the whole Panthers staff for putting together what looks like an All Star coaching staff..
  13. The worst or best case sceniro if the Panthers stay put and the top 3 QB's are gone, would be that Florida QB Anthony Richardson would still be available and he would not be all that bad of a choice.
  14. My guess is Derek Carr signs with either the Jets or Saints, who are currently projected to be front runners in obtaining him. If that is indeed the case, I could see the Panthers signing the much less expensive Jacoby Brissett as a bridge QB and draft Kentucky's QB Will Levis or Florida's QB Anthony Richardson, depending on which one is available when they select # 9 in the 2023 NFL Draft..
  15. Congratulations are extended to the Panthers for putting togeather what looks like a great coaching staff. Now, they need to get a good QB to go with this coaching staff and the 2023 season and beyond will really look promising.
  16. The 2022 NFL Draft had potential for chaos as there were no blue chip QBs, a lot of teams wanting to trade down, and a quarter of the league had no 1st round pick to start the draft.
  17. A fellow Panthers teammate once said "When I talk about Steve Smith coming in as an angry man, it was more about a chip on his shoulder and being able to prove everybody wrong," . Smith carried that chip until the end of his career, which ended with the Baltimore Ravens in 2016 after being cut by the Panthers in 2013. QB Jake Delhomme said "Players were literally scared of him." Former Utah teammate and long-time Panthers teammate Jordan Gross, agreed. "Steve just played pissed off. " "In college, Steve literally got into fistfights with teammates. Every day, almost. ... The same things that got him in trouble, whether it was punching a teammate or whatever, were the same traits that made him a Hall of Fame receiver."
  18. I am not in favor of trading Jarvis. Anxious to see how this plays out.
  19. The cost factor and Carr being 31 yrs old, an age lots of QB's start slowing down, are both concerns for me.
  20. Any time I hear the words "trade up', I get a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach and a fear that the Panthers will give up more than they receive, costing them in the long run.
