  1. Vonn Bell Signs Contract With Carolina Panthers By: Drew Crabtree, Editor | March 13, 2023 Vonn Bell, a seven-year veteran safety, and the Carolina Panthers have agreed to terms on a contract. Bell was a member of the Cincinnati Bengals secondary for the past three years. With the 61st pick of the 2016 NFL Draft, the New Orleans Saints selected Bell out of Ohio State. As a Buckeye, Bell helped lead Ohio State to a CFP National Championship with his play. The Saints saw his leadership abilities along with his hard-hitting and took a shot in the second round. As a rookie, Bell appeared in all 16 games, starting in 14. He finished second on the team with 87 tackles and added four pass breakups and two forced fumbles. In his second year, he appeared in every game again, but only started 10. Bell broke out by leading the much-improved defense with 83 tackles and added another two forced fumbles and 4.5 sacks. In his third year, Bell again appeared in every game but only started in half. Despite that, he finished with the second-most tackles on the team with 89 and added three pass breakups and a forced fumble. Heading into a contract year, Bell knew that he had to step up and he did just that. In 2019, Bell finished second again in tackles with 89 but finally notched his first-career interception in Week 11 in a win over Tampa Bay. He tallied five fumble recoveries, one of which was a scoop-and-score, and 1.5 sacks. The Bengals then signed bell to a three-year deal, establishing their identity on defense. In his first year in Cincinnati, Bell led the team with 114 tackles, a career-high, and also forced three fumbles along the way. In 2021, Bell was a massive piece in the Bengals Super Bowl LVI run. During the regular season, Bell finished with the second-mot tackles with 97, eight pass breakups, and an interception. In the playoffs, Bell continued his great play and was the recipient of an interception on the first drive of Overtime in the AFC Championship game which set up the game-winning field goal. Last year, Bell took a step back in terms of tackles by only recording 77. However, he set a career-high with four, including his first career two-interception game in Week 4 on Thursday Night against the Dolphins. He also forced a pair of fumbles, the second of which was a clutch strip of Rhamondre Stephenson which effectively secured the win for the Bengals. In his three-year career in Cincinnati, he only ever missed one game: Week 18 in 2021 where most of the Bengals veterans sat.
  2. Considering what these two players have brought to the Panthers I think it is important sign both D’Onta Foreman and Bradley Bozeman.
  3. DT Shy Tuttle, 27 yr. old, 6'3" 300 LB. Along with Derrick Brown (who is likely to play as a defensive end in the Panthers system), he gives them some more run stopping size up front, which is what they needed as they adjust their base defense. Tuttle grew up in Lexington, N.C., and starred at North Davidson High before going to Tennessee.
  4. That was very generous of Michael Jordon making a $10 million donation to Make-A-Wish, which was a large hunk of change.
  5. I hated the Panthers had to lose D.J. Moore but he was the premium for the Bears going down to No. 9, giving up the idea of the double trade and doing the deal early.
  6. Glad to see that Smitty agrees with the trade, much like most of us Panther fans.
  7. I do think there are question marks with all of these QB's, so it's a major gamble. Tepper is a hedge fund manager, aggressive and a gambler by nature. His impatience has not served the franchise well so far though. As a Panthers fan, I'm not holding my breath. The skill set of CJ Stroud is tantalizing, however. I think he's the pick.
  8. These people sound like a fickled, grade school girl that has lots of boys to chose from as a special boyfriend but can't make up her mind on the choice.
  9. Prospect Summary He should be available in the 2nd Rd Andrei Iosivas NFL Draft Scouting Report WR, Princeton Tigers Andrei Iosivas is an All-American track star for Princeton with a 6.71 60m and a 39-inch vertical at 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds. If you could build the ideal wideout prospect, it’d look something like Iosivas. He’s a guy who can get his in a lot of different ways. Down the field, Iosivas uses his physicality and speed to separate and has the fluid body control to high-point the ball or release off the defender for the back shoulder ball. On his out-breaking routes, Iosivas displays an innate ability to break his routes without losing any speed, making him a matchup nightmare for corners throughout their entire phase. When Iosivas has the ball in his hands his strength and acceleration make him a threat for chunk yards after the catch and has the hip fluidity and foot speed to make defenders miss. To check the final box, Iosivas’ hands are extremely strong—he finishes through contact really well and attacks the ball in the air. The only deficiencies I can find in his game is a little stiffness in his bend at the top of his stick and comeback routes. I’d also like to see him be a more competitive and physical blocker on the perimeter. With all this being said, only time will tell how well Iosivas will be received by NFL executives. The Senior Bowl will allow Iosivas to showcase everything we’ve seen on film this season as well as answer some questions as to how he fares against the best prospects in the country. I have full confidence in Iosivas to perform well at the Senior Bowl—the talent and unteachables are undeniable and make him a guy that can contribute right away. Down the road, he can potentially become a featured receiver in an offense that prioritizes getting the ball in his hands and allowing him to stress coverages at all levels of the field.
  10. True. Doing that for all 32 teams, your chances of being correct would be pretty good of hitting it.
  11. Exactly. There would be nothing to keep the leaping froging, trading team, from selecting the QB the Panthers traded up to # 1 for. The Panthers would have to trust the trading teams word that the QB they leap froged for was not the one the Panthers desired, which in itself would be a gamble that could back fire.
  12. And he is probably more like 180 Lbs. when he doesn't load up his weigh for the NFL Combine.

    Calvin Ridley

What a great human interest story. How horrible it must have been for Calvin Ridley to live those awful life experiences and thankfully come out on the other side a good person and a great football player. The article shows and impresses the fact that we often never know the ordeals a person has gone through or the heavy burdens they carry.
  14. Bingo!! Your sceniro certainly make good sense and smart logic.
  15. If I am a G.M. and in position to draft Young, I would trade down a few positions and pick up more draft selections if I thought Stroud, Levi or Robinson would be available, depending on which one I liked best, when my team would be on the draft clock.
  16. If the Panthers get their future franchise QB out this draft, one that will be on the team for years, then I think we all can agree that the price to trade up was small indeed.
  17. You share my exact concerns pertaining to Young and how durable he will be.
  18. This may be one of, if not the best, move in franchise history. The only QB's on the Panthers roster at the moment are Matt Corral and Jacob Eason. With some degree of certainty about being able to draft one now, the Panthers can view the free agents differently. QB's available next week in free agency include Jimmy Garoppolo, Sam Darnold, Jacoby Brissett, and others.
