In going back through the last 15 years of drafts (2005-2020 since it's probably too soon to judge 2021 and 2022), I see 4 years (2007, 2010, 2014, 2015) where there wasn't at least one QB who you wouldn't at least define as good. That still is giving you a hit rate of almost 75%, and not taking into account years where there multiple QBs available who hit.
-
All this tells us is that teams that are picking in the top 5 have missed the boat in either selecting their QB or developing them. You could do this same exercise for just about every other position and find similar results.

Was not at all expecting that kind of game and the Brady tears were so delicious . My favorite was a lady sitting in front of me with her Brady jersey saying that the whole Tampa team was deliberately screwing up on purpose to make Brady look bad

Yeah what a lock coming out of the MAC, everyone just knew he was going to be an HOFer the day he got drafted

How many threads are you planning on starting/shitting up today?

So you're saying there haven't been any sure fire locks in the last 18 years, and only two in the last 25. Why does any team ever draft a QB then?
-
No reason for you to stick around this board then. Have fun with the jaguars

PFT ARTICLE: The Panthers slide squarely into tank mode
X-Clown replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
It was one game, against The lions who were actively quitting on Matt Patricia, so much that he was fired 5 days later. -
Kind of like anointing Taylor Heinicke as a franchise QB after 4 good games?

Muhsin Muhammad? Kris Jenkins? Ryan Kalil?

The same people would be losing their poo if he were to get hurt at some point in the next 11 games and saying we should have traded him for whatever we could get.
-
Add literally getting anything for Robbie Anderson after Sunday.
-
At the rate we are using him in this terrible offense, he was likely to get IRed again and we would not be able to get anything for him. I’m not mad at this.
-
Derek Anderson “That’s fine, that’s fine, that’s fine. I take this poo seriously!” Is up there

We went 7-9 as an expansion team

Now that Robbie is gone, who is (or who should be) our #2 receiver?

He's on the Lions now -

This is the beauty of a lost season - let guys get playing time and see what happens. Shi Smith has been targeted like a #2 receiver, but hasn't shown anything. Shennault, TMJ, and Higgins should get more reps. Of course, none of it matters if we are committed to not throwing the ball beyond the line of scrimmage.. -
NFL: Pats relationship with Mac Jones "gone sideways"
X-Clown replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
This is so true. Their last two wins were against the Lions and Browns and all of a sudden "they're back"....yet they're in 4th place in their own division. I can't wait until they get their curb stomping from the Bills again. -
Kneel kneel kneel punt for the next 11 games

Any Panthers card collectors out there? Mail Day!

Even in bad shape those could fetch some good money. -
Any Panthers card collectors out there? Mail Day!
X-Clown replied to OnlyPantherFaninMaine's topic in Carolina Panthers
It’s because the card companies printed literally millions of cards in the junk era (late 80s to early 90s) and our parents always told us not to throw them away because the ones produced when they were kids had a lot less printed and a lot less that were in decent condition and became valuable. Today there are considerably less printed, but yes the low numbered or autograph/memorabilia rookie cards are the most desireable. But you’re also having to probably fork out over 10k for some of these boxes of cards to get a chance of pulling something like that. It’s insane. -

X-Clown replied to OnlyPantherFaninMaine's topic in Carolina Panthers
I really don’t have any half decent panther cards as I just got back into collecting a couple of years ago. Most impressive thing I have seen is that there’s a guy on the blowout forums board that has over 400 Steve Smith 1 of 1s, over 350 autos and something like 1100 memorabilia items of his -
I don't know the how part - but the ultra conservative game plan including the not calling timeouts at the end of the first half just seemed so obvious that we had no plans of competing. Felt like the only objective in this game was to make CMC look good to hopefully convince a team to give up assets for him. I expect that once the trade deadline has passed you'll see more "injuries" to key players that will get them put on IR and lots of playing time for younger players that probably don't fit into our plans.
