Honestly, I don't care what the plan is for the rest of the season. The sooner they can get Rhule's stench off of the players and the franchise, the better. Let the players and remaining coaches audition for their jobs next year. What's the worst that can happen? We lose more games?

I haven't seen the mind numbing turnovers from Baker yet, so that automatically makes him an upgrade from Sam. And of course the QB competition was bullshit, there was zero chance that Sam would open the season as the starter. That was pretty much confirmed when we put all our resources into finding literally any QB (even a potential sexual predator that was certain to miss most of the season) that could possibly be an upgrade from Sam. It would have been the same situation had we kept Teddy last year, Sam would have gone into the season the starter regardless. Rhule tried to call it a competition just to appease the locker room, but anyone with common sense knew Baker was going to start the season against the Browns.

The rest of the league figured out 15 years ago that you don't try to build your roster around the highest paid running back(s) and pray that he (they) would stay healthy, but we still haven't figured that out yet. Maybe someday we will also figure out that having good coaches and not trying to do reclamation projects on every QB who was thrown away by his old team isn't a good formula either.

If he doesn’t play, I don’t want to hear any excuses about this being the reason our offense fails or for yet another loss in the Matt Rhule era that absolves him and our OC (or QB) of any responsibility. I watched tennesee and Minnesota’s offense work just fine without their lead backs at stages last year. Even two years ago, Mike Davis was able to carry the load without that much of a drop off.

Sam was outplayed by a guy that was signed off the street last year that had a bum shoulder. He has 64 career touchdowns and 73 career turnovers. Baker may not end up being the guy but he's never been Sam level bad
