  1. Unless Houston would have decided to completely punt on QB (which I doubt would have happened), he goes to the Colts at #4.
  2. Yeah it's not an easy decision now. It used to be something you'd chalk up to oh well, it's a bad season, we are in it for the long haul, etc. Don't expect any good advice in this thread though - you'll get judged because you don't want to walk away from how many ever thousands of dollars you threw out initially to have the right to buy those tickets at face value. They'll tell you that you support mediocrity and are part of the problem if you continue to buy the tickets and go to the games and that you should eat the cost of the PSLs to "send a message" which basically means that Tepper and co. can sell them to some other ticket broker or corporation. But if you sell your tickets to opposing fans to break even (because let's face it, there aren't Panthers fans who are paying face value these days), then it's your fault that there's no home field advantage and that is a contributing factor to us continuing to lose more games and then they'll move the team and god just be supportive, ugh. I've resigned myself to show up to the games and torture myself so that at least I won't have a cowboys fan buying $13 bud lights and having a good time which puts money in tepper's pocket - but do my eating and drinking before the game, buy nothing in the stadium.
  3. I think most of it revolves around what expectations were. 2011 team although it had some good pieces, it was after the 2-14 Clausen season where the team actually played worse than their record. While they upgraded the offense, the defense was complete dog poo. This year, the front office tried to sell us on the team being good enough that just dropping a QB in would be enough to make this a playoff team after how well they played down the stretch. Then there is the whole trade up and trading away of assets to get there. But what people don’t remember is that this board was drenched with people that also complained that Cam just put up stats and doesn’t win games even in his record setting rookie season. As stupid as this sounds now, there were a lot of people spamming the boards and pointing at Andy Dalton making the playoffs his rookie year as evidence that we should have taken a defensive player first and then gotten him later.
  4. Even weirder are the ones who defended Sam Darnold to the bitter end that are doing the same thing.
  5. He was genuinely questionable in week 1 with an ankle injury, maybe it’s possible that led to his slow start?
  6. It’s saying something that we are four pages in and there’s not a single mention of the Ian Thomas extension.
  7. Are you saying that Reich would have preferred signing Carr over drafting a QB?
  8. I feel like the coaching staffs here would continue to use him as a crutch and grind him into pulp, so no this doesn’t bother me.
  9. I think you’ve got some revisionist history. This is the only thread I could find, but I don’t see many mad people at the time about him leaving. I only wish I could the thread when he was named interim GM and they were considering keeping him full time, that one was full meltdown.
  10. Now to be fair, can you name a single person who at the time would have been excited for us to promote Brandon Beane, who had spent his entire career working under Marty Hurney who we couldn't wait to get rid of? I remember that being idea being completely torn to shreds when it was floated by Gantt or whoever that it was a strong consideration because it would have just been more of the same.
  11. I think we are probably getting ahead of ourselves with thinking that Reich is gone this early. But I'll play along and throw out a name that interested me during the last cycle that I think is going to be a popular choice in this cycle and that is Shane Waldron, the OC of Seattle. A young offensive mind that has worked under Belichick and McVay and since becoming OC has managed to resurrect the career of Geno Smith who everyone believed was just going to drive Seattle to tank for a QB. They lost in Week one to the Rams when both of their starting tackles got hurt, but then I believe they played without both of them at the Lions in Week 2 and put up 30 points on offense and beat what seems to be one of the more complete teams in the NFC. Drew Lock managed to even look functional in limited action (the only other time that happened was when he played against Rhule and co. in 2020). I'd be good with Ben Johnson, but he already spurned us once. Bienemy would also be near the top of my want list too.
  12. I'd imagine that it has to be much deeper than just Bryce's first 3 games of development
  13. Always crickets when this question comes up
  14. I already signed that for better or worse when I started following this team almost 30 years ago. Can't see switching teams now or ever - if the team were moved outside of the Carolinas, I might just not have a team anymore.
  15. They were out in masses in 2021 also. I've heard that they travel pretty well to road games in warmer climates in October since it's already miserable and cold up there.
  16. This. I'm pretty sure I dropped an F bomb without thinking after the Bryce fumble which I don't know if other people overheard since the sea of Vikings fans I was in were around me were cheering. But that's a lot different than who is yelling it five times in every sentence and getting worse throughout the game.
  17. If this is really true, why did he sign Bridgewater to a 3 year deal for starter’s money a month before the draft if he wanted to trade up to get Herbert?
  18. To be fair, S2 was getting press because Brock Purdy scored super high on it and led 2022’s class, and a lot of elite QBs like Mahomes, Burrow, Allen, and Brees scored really high on it too. But totally agree that it’s one data point that shouldn’t be the end all be all, just like the idea that we shouldn’t have drafted stroud because durrr there’s no good Ohio state QBs in the NFL.
  19. Yeah I’m used to seeing at least a few cowboys and Steelers jerseys every week. I’ve even seen The Golden Calf of Bristol broncos jerseys before - just really bizarre choice with the jaguars/urban Meyer era as a tight end where he didn’t even make the team
  20. Imagine coming to a Panthers-Vikings game and wanting to showcase the illustrious run that The Golden Calf of Bristol had with the Jaguars when Urban Meyer let him “play” tight end in the preseason
