Lots of Gamecock fans from that era hated the Panthers because of Cam. Minshew is what he is, a guy that you feel good if he's your #2 for a few games, or a bridge QB. But it seems like the Raiders didn't view him that way with the contract they gave him, nor did they have any faith in O'Connell if they paid Minshew that much and made overtures to draft one too.

Then why did Atl give Cousins 100 million guaranteed if they only think he would start for 1-2 years? Isn't that really stupid or am I missing something?

One of the most god awful games I’ve ever watched. The panthers defense intercepted 4 passes from the bears who were starting Todd Collins….and lost by 17 points. Peppers had a pick and shushed the crowd. Jimmy Clausen and Matt Moore combined to throw 32 passes for 96 yards and 3 INTs with no TDS….adjusted for the lost yardage on the 5 sacks they took it was 62 net passing yards. Matt forte had 166 yards and 2 TDs including one for 68 yards where no one appeared to be interested in trying to tackle him.

His class included Mahomes and Watson. I can understand that Mahomes was kind of a wild card because of the system he played in, but I never understood how Trubisky went ahead of Watson when the eye test was involved.

This is so true. On the Super Bowl teams, the 49ers drafted Deebo and Aiyuk in round 2, same for the Chiefs and Rashee Rice. These are impact players and we end up with the TMJs of the world in the 2nd

Frank would have been content to go retread with Derek Carr, just like they did in Indy every year. It made no sense to me that he was the choice with this vision, but I think Tepper was honed in on the idea that he wanted NFL HC experience after hiring a guy with none in Rhule. If Bryce ends up busting, expect Tepper to look for a QB that's 6'10" to compensate.
