The term I keep thinking of is demoralizing. I’m usually a pretty optimistic person when it comes to this team. The football itself is the worst it’s been since the 2010 Clausen year. But at least the expectations for that team were low and we knew that changes would be coming right after the season ended. I didn’t expect us to be good last year when we signed Teddy to play foxball, but I saw enough to think that we’d be getting better once we upgraded that position. I wasn’t at all sold that Darnold would be that guy, but thought that our coaching staff would be able to capitalize on his strengths and coach out some of his weaknesses. Swing and a motherfugin miss there. Also liked the way our new GM navigated the draft and was willing to swing trades and bring in FAs, so much different than he who shall remain nameless. But now? Coaching staff has regressed in a big way. Darnold has been so bad that It was a serious debate on whether to trade the remaining draft capital we had over the next 3 years for a player that may or may not be able to play football anytime soon. The 2022 QB class doesn’t look all that promising and we probably win too many games to get a top 5 pick. We don’t have a second or third round pick already. I can already hear the drum start to beat for a local reclamation project like Trubisky or Daniel Jones to be sold as needing a change of scenery and they will be effective here with our offense. So yeah, demoralizing is the word for me.

Bengals are 3-1, just like we are. It’s ok if you don’t know the NFL outside of the panthers, just stick with UNC sports. I give you credit at least for knowing about UNC football, most UNC fans like the basketball team and pick Alabama as their football team. -

Voted on by the players, so it sounds like they might have a bit of insight. The most notable current player in the NFL that went to UNC is the trivia answer to “What QB will forever be known as the guy the Bears massively reached on ahead of Future Hall of Famer Patrick Mahomes”? -

There are more current Wake players than UNC in the NFL top 100. There’s also more players on that list from football factories like Southern Methodist, Florida Atlantic, Minnesota State, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Arkansas State, Samford than UNC. But great win against Duke last week!! -
Meanwhile, over at that other expansion team...

There were lots of Jets fans doing the JETS jets jets jets chant around me when good things were happening. I waited until the crowd quieted down after the TD and then did the JETS chant. It also drew some more laughs when I did it after the Darnold run for a TD.

Yes, he should be spied. Look at what he can do.

It also has the Eagles signing Colin Kaepernick as the starting QB, putting up over 4300 yards and 30+ TDS but having them go 7-10 -
I’m pretty sure the result of that fight would be a little different than the 2015 one

That’s almost 5 yards an attempt. And they scored not one but two field goals. Yeah the egg is really on our face right now.

That’s awful news. I met her at a road game against the Saints many years ago, she was super nice. RIP

I stayed there 3 years ago. Was eating breakfast and I heard this voice that sounded lumbergh from office space “Yeah, I’ll have a coffee”. I knew it wasn’t the real lumbergh but yet I know I’d heard it before. I turn around and it’s Joe by God Person. Check please.

Fat shaming a kid at a spelling bee who is a fan of the team you claim to root for....that’s low even for the smack forum

Cook blew his ACL out his rookie year, since then he’s missed 9 games in 3 years. McCaffrey missed 13 last year with multiple injuries, but none were season ending.. Not sure how this makes one guy injury prone and the other not.

Well I have this username for a reason.... I remember watching that game at Concord Mills in the restaurant beside Jillians (now Dave and Busters) since Jillians was completely packed. People from the mall were piling into watch the game after we were getting loud after every play. When smitty took the TD to the house, all these random strangers watching were hugging, high fiving, just going apeshit. One of the reasons I love sports, brings everybody together. The Jenkins blocked XP I also remember watching at Fox and Hound downtown. Tons of people pissed and groaning after mccardell scored what looked like would be the winning TD. Again, Jenkins blocking the XP sent everyone into a frenzy. Best moments at BOA were pretty much the entire NFC championship, especially after Luke’s pick 6. Hixons TD against the saints, Luke’s pick 6 against Seattle, and stopping Brady’s last drive on MNF were some of the loudest moments I can remember. Also personally fun was the day that Fred Smoot decided his best move was to talk poo to Steve Smith pregame, that turned out well. Wasn’t there for the Cowboys game in 97 playoffs, but definitely was one of the most satisfying wins to shut their bandwagon down. Also, the 03 comeback against Tampa at home where the announcers declared it was over, we weren’t going to score against that defense. I could go on forever, seems like there are so many that involve Steve Smith or Cam doing something incredible.

I can't believe I'm seeing people name Beuerlein, Jake, Rucker, and Minter as "Just A Guy". Pro Bowlers/10 year starters are not part of this. People who named Al Wallace, Tyler Brayton, Nick Goings, Fozzy Whitaker, Philly Brown, Kyle Love, those are good answers. I'd add (at the stage of his career he was in) Jerricho Cotchery. I'll go to grave arguing that was a catch in the Super bowl.

I really hope Mac Jones is the starter by that point, much rather have Burns and company teeing off on a slow footed rookie in the pocket then having to deal with Cam's escapability in what likely will be a low scoring defensive game. Bigger concern is Darnold against a healthy Patriots D - we know how that's gone so far.

"QBs that went to California are busts in the NFL. That's why Aaron Rodgers fell in the draft.." Probably MHS in 2005

Denver could conceivably give us something else

If we pass up fields to trade for lock....just no. Can’t even imagine.
