  1. I agree with them, I do love Mingo he’s really intriguing. I also think Marvin Mims could go a lot higher than people are projecting.
  2. I do wonder if the WR class is gonna have some serious variance with where they are projected to go, feels like there is a lot on a similar level projected to go 2-4 and I could see a lot of movement up and down in that group.
  3. I think Levis would be that if he could tbh, he just is never up enough to stomp.
  4. I think his first Georgia game was impressive, I think his second Georgia game still wasn’t bad even though the result was a lot different. This year the Tennessee game coming off that shoulder injury was a good one, I thought he was pretty impressive against Kansas State as well. The Texas game and LSU game this year are probably good ones if you want to see the downsides
  5. What do you dislike about LaPorta? His size I’d assume? Which makes some sense. I just think he’s just a lot more fluid on tape than Kuntz, especially after the catch. He’s gonna be a hell of a receiving threat and he shows a lot of upside in the blocking area, and athletic trait wise he’s pretty elite.
  6. I found it interesting he struggled throwing left again in his pro day, specifically rolling out. I totally see why his arm would have his fans entranced it is gorgeous. There really were not a lot of flaws in that Georgia game.
  7. Yeah that Georgia game was great. I do get a lot of this comes down to how much do you believe that’s the future Stroud. I guess my one issue with that is I can point to single game Young tape I find just as Incredible, but that doesn’t seem to give him a pass in here on any of his flaws. It’s a team message board I can’t expect unbiased fairness, and I totally understand your POV on Georgia was enough. Just more wanted to comment on it since Bryce fans keep getting called out for thinking he’d perfect when I just feel a lot of them have admitted his shortcomings(lol).
  8. I think there’s a ton of hyperbole on both sides right now it makes it a bit difficult. But also I’m so antsy about this pick I can’t not talk about it lmao.
  9. Feels like I’ve spent most my time trying to discuss where I think Bryce needs to improve and why I think his special qualities separates him. I haven’t had anyone on the Stroud side tell me their view on what’s a struggle with Stroud and where his weak points may be, it usually just devolves to “well Bryce is going to get crushed like a Prius getting hit by a semi” or “he’ll get smashed like a bug on my windshield”. I’d love some great convo on prospects that actually dives into them a bit.
  10. Yeah for some reason he just brings it then, it’s hilarious.
  11. Awesome post. Brents or Cam Smith would be my choice, though I think I may be in love with LaPorta, he’s such an entertaining watch he’ll be a lot of fun in the NFL.
  12. To be honest I’m probably underselling it as I’m doing research, I think packers fans always just comped him to Favre and that’s why they hated on his arm his first few years. He did rework his release and added velocity after college and credits that to a lot of his success, but Tedford was known to coach robot QBs. Looking at scouting reports one says has a very strong arm and the other says has an average arm that can hit all the throws but doesn’t wow you. So there’s a pretty big gulf there lmao. I’d guess his arm was closer to a Stroud than a Young based on that. So id say you could easily debate what I said.
  13. Brady and Rodgers had meh level arms and college and saw a lot of improvement refining their mechanics and with strength gains in the pros. Burrow saw a similar uptick refining his motion that helped his velocity. His arm in the pros is significantly better than it was in college. Its highly unlikely Bryce’s arm is maxed and when you get these mid range arm guys you definitely can see some pretty noticeable improvements from it as it opens more up for them. He’ll never have a top tier arm but thinking this as as strong as his arm will ever be hasn’t paid attention to previous history and QB arms. Definitely helps his ceiling case as well.
  14. I mean Saban would often say Young would watch the film Sundays before the coaching staff even did it. Every report from teammates and staff have been nothing but glowing with how hard he worked everywhere. I feel like Young’s poise under pressure is my favorite thing about him, nothing phases him and he’s generally the the one making the kill shot. I don’t see what you have, I absolutely hate Alabama and the one thing I knew about them was Bryce wasn’t gonna ever stay down and watching him do what he did a week after a shoulder injury against us (Tennessee) will always have my respect.
  15. Yeah I just assume the guys that even on the worst days can find a way to get it done have it, and generally in close games he was at his best, but thats my view on it. Hard to quantify dawg so I cant really say anything but gut feel stuff.
  16. I'm shocked how hard it is to find simple things like how often a team lined up in shotgun. Would be much easier to quantify a lot of these arguments lmao.
  17. I dont really get how you could think that with his performance in game tying/winning situations throughout his career, guy almost always found a way to get it done other than that A&M game in 21 and the National Title game where he played well enough to win, but the team just didnt have it that day. He got his team in field goal range in that Tennessee game and scored the last time he saw the ball in the LSU loss last year.
  18. I was curious, I do think his line was better in 21, but I wasnt sure if he really didnt run more, or what the deal was. So I looked at PFF premium data, with rushes being designed rushes, sacks being sacks (Counted as rushes in college), and scrambles which they define as non designed rushes. Data really could support either argument, he had more scrambles per game in 2022 than 2021 which indicates he was running around more, but he had more sacks + scrambles per game in 2021 which feels like it could indicated oline play more maybe? I wish they had more in depth stuff on this. Year Games Rushes Sacks Per Game Sack Scrambles Per Game Scramble Sacks + Scrambles Sacks + Scrambles per game 21 15 11 35 2.33 34 2.27 69 4.6 22 11.5 4 18 1.57 30 2.61 48 4.17
  19. Good things that’s not what he does consistently. Does he need to tone down some of it sure but most of the time it’s pretty deliberate and very useful.
  20. I think creation and improvisation is something that I’d important for every QB. Keeping plays alive and finding guys when plays break down is what separates the good for the greats. Young isn’t gonna thread a 50 yard pass off balance falling away, but he can do mahomes things with his velocity in the 10-30 yard range for sure. And this doesn’t count some of things he may be able to do better in practice. Mahomes is mahomes but Bryce’s skillset is very appealing.
  21. It’s just wild how many times the goal post can get moved. This argument started over the comment he’s got a noodle arm and can’t throw it over 40 yards, and now people are acting like we don’t understand Bryce’s flaws.
  22. I’d never say he could do what Mahomes does arm strength wise. He’s got mahomes creation skills but yeah he’s not gonna sling bombs like that, but you don’t have to do that to succeed with what he does. People get hung up on aspects of comparisons.
  23. Elite thinker, Elite under pressure, Elite Accuracy, I’m in. I hope this place isn’t as miserable when we draft Young as it seems it might.
  24. And we are nuts for wanting our #1 pick to have an elite mental game it seems. Wild how different people value different things.
