  1. % wise less likely to be a bust top 10 than third round though. But yes every player can be a bust.
  2. When did I say Corral was a bust, all ive said is he has tools i really like and i hope he develops. All i've stated is based on how the NFL works its very very unlikely the new coach is going to let a third round player he didnt draft beat out the guys he just scouted and fell in love with during his first off season at his new job.
  3. I can tell you what the odds say based on draft history. Maybe some guy who gets drafted in the 6th round is gonna pull a Tom Brady in this draft, maybe i'll win a lottery and be able to pay off my house, maybe Corral is Drew Brees. I dont expect it and its probably not going to happen and i certainly dont budget around it, but it could always happen of course.
  4. You keep adding outlier situations, vast majority of the time that doesn't happen. Which is exactly what i've said in my other comments.
  5. You think Corral is Favre and Young good? Maybe hes a massive outlier! Expecting that is pretty wild though.
  6. I love watching him navigate a pocket, its so impressive. The difference between him and Levis in terms of pocket presence is insane. He definitely is a guy that's ONLY drawback is his size, everything else he has at a high level. I'm more worried about long term durability than height with him. He's tough as nails though.
  7. I'm not saying he's going to the practice squad, i'm saying he's going to be a guy who the coach is using as a max a hurdle for the rookie, not a guy they are planning is going to win any job. I sure as hell hope we can develop Corral into a competent backup at worst and a solid trade piece in the optimistic view.
  8. I'd guess they'd sign a Dalton/Flacco type and the Rookie probably beats them out in camp if everything goes as planned.
  9. 100% but I think its dumb Corral had to "beat" PJ Walker out with such limited reps. Rhule had the same mentality that the young guys needed to "earn" it. Not gonna be able to debate the conspiracy on the second paragraph there because I dont believe Rhule was gonna be able to keep 4 QBs on the roster and I dont think PJ had a chance till Corral got hurt. Next season Corral is going to be the PJ to the new QB though, the team is gonna do everything it can to make sure its investment succeeds. The only person beating the rookie out is a vet that can lose the job during the season.
  10. Isnt that the exact thing that annoyed you about Rhule making corral beat PJ out for the third string role
  11. I wouldn't argue that Rhule didnt screw it up, I was also very frustrated at how he handled that. I'd say you couldnt argue that corral put anything on tape that wow'd you. I'm arguing that based on the fact the coaching staff coming in will have no loyalty to corral and will hand pick the QB we are drafting, the fact that raw talent wise the QB we draft will be more desired than Corral, and the fact Corral hasnt put good tape out there makes it nearly impossible for him to win the starting job. I do think a veteran stop gap could win the job but I think that corral could have a hard time beating him out as well sadly. I think corral could 100% develop into an NFL QB I like a number of his traits, but you cant let that make you skip the QBs in this draft. All players can bust sure but statistically Corral has a greater chance of busting than a top 10 QB as well.
  12. Draft capital matters that’s the NFL. Coaches that hand pick their QB is going to give him all the chances to develop. Avoiding picking a Franchise QB at 1.01 because of the long shot that corral beats them out would be a losing decision 100%. There’s a reason corral fell to the third round, there’s a reason he couldn’t beat out even PJ Walker in the preseason. Dictating your draft plan based on a meh preseason from a late third round QB when you have a QB worth the 1.01 is on the board is a fireable offense. If corral has a miraculous improvement and somehow wins the job it’s not a waste of a pick, we found a QB and that’s the most important thing in the NFL, but to plan on that possibility is insanely short sighted.
  13. 2023 rookie is the starter no matter what in my eyes yea. Would love to see corral develop but the only QB that’ll start over the first pick is going to be some Vet they bring in for a few weeks max.
  14. I do love a "Bad" Stroud game is almost 300 yards and 4 TDs.
  15. I still find it wild Allen threw for less than 100 yards in three games his last year.
  16. Wild to watch the opinion of him alternate on a drive by drive basis hahaha.
  17. Will Levis has all the tools but he tends to throw it where his receivers are instead of where they are going to be and has absolutely awful pocket presence, he just seems like an older project. He's fine I dont think hes on the same plane as Stroud and Young personally and i'm a tad shocked people are so high on him.
  18. I don’t understand the thought process on skipping a QB this year. Every player is a risk but Young and Stroud have actual elite skillsets. Anderson got abused last week by a team who may not have a draft pick on their oline. Every player is going to have risk, how can you watch this team and want to continue playing without a QB of the future. We are pretty well set up for a rookie with a good Oline and DJ Moore and a number of picks to give him more weapons. This is the year to do it.
  19. 100%, I would say i'm just thankful we bottomed out this year and not last year. That would have been brutal for us.
  20. I just think give them enough time and the holes will start to show more, ewers has played like five games total for example. Though Caleb Williams is very very good I cant argue that.
  21. As a Tennessee fan I love Hooker but I do think a lot of what he does is propped up by the offense we run which makes it easy on him. I dont notice the same ball placement I do with Young/Stroud when watching him play. He's a guy I think goes on day 2 and ends up being a really successful backup spot starter as he definitely has the mentality and drive to be successful.
  22. This gets said literally every year and by the time the draft rolls around they've picked enough holes through the prospects to decide the following year is the best QB class. I do love Williams and Ewers, but Stroud/Young probably comparable talents in reality.
  23. I wish Ohio State played a bit harder of a schedule, will be really interesting to watch him vs Michigan and maybe in the playoffs this year to see how he handles that.
  24. Off the top of my head Luck did well Reggie Wayne, Watson did well with Hopkins, Herbert’s done well with Keenan Allen. It’s not rare at all, in reality the statement should be good WRs and bad QBs don’t generally gel.
  25. I think this sums up everything for me, i'm on the optimistic side of things because the runway is clear and the plan is correct, but Tepper fumbling the bag will always be stuck in the back of my mind. He'll have to prove he's competent before anyone can fell any confidence level.
