I'm in the same boat, I wouldn't even be able to work up the energy to be mad. It would just be a sign we aren't going to ever be in a position to consistently compete and it would be hard to work up my desire to watch it.

He looked pretty good without AJB last year when Hurts wasn't thought to be all that special, he looked great with the chargers. But the most offensive thing stated here is thinking Miles Sanders is a top 10 RB.

I mean Fangio is on staff with Philly with Steichen and we interviewed Fangio after Steichen, feels like it could be a mutual interest from us and Steichen.

Tepper can pay Payton whatever he wants its not my money it doesn't affect anything roster building or team related. I am very concerned about what picks we'd have to give up though.
-
Honestly yeah its pretty comparable to the rosters those coaches stepped into last year. Ours would be significantly more appealing than what Daboll walked into with the Giants.
-
Giants, Dolphins and Vikings seem pretty happy in Purgatory with their coaches with no experience this year.
-
2 should be the clear favorite IMO.

I like a few TEs in the second, Washington, Kincaid, Musgraves all have serious potential. If we do go QB at 9 a TE and a receiver in the second would be nice imo. I'm not super high on the FA class for WR and it would be nice to get the young QB another couple young targets to grow with.
-
Yeah I would just argue that sitting in on the interview is just valuable experience I'd prefer the second in line for owning my team to get. The best way to get experience is to be involved.
-
She's sitting in on interviews not single handedly hiring a coach though.
-
I'd agree, Tepper got some experience with the Steelers sure and we are still seeing the growing pains but the end of the day when you own an NFL team you are responsible for hiring people. She now works in an NFL team probably to get the experience you want her to have so hopefully if she ever does take control we don't have to learn these lessons all over again.
-
Why is Tepper qualified? How do you become qualified? Should no owners interview candidates unless they've worked in the NFL? Would you prefer she have no experience if she ever does have to take over?
-
You could?

Now do the AFC, this is more an indictment on the NFC talent level right now than what you want it to mean for QBs.

A coach and a QB and this team can win this garbage division next year IMO. Saints and Bucs are in the downswing and the Falcons are gonna be stuck without a QB. Cap space wise it’ll probably be 2 years to be truly competitive if we get some competent leadership in, but it’s not as dire as everyone wants to make it. Now is Tepper cable of bringing a competent coach in I have no idea. Bengals were a much worse team when they added Burrow. It’s very possible to get good in a year or two.

Caleb Williams is also screwed next year coming out of USC tbh.

Yeah I imagine we are trying to get the saints pick included and its their this year and next year first at best. As a burns supporter you definitely jump if its the saints pick plus another first, no questions asked.
-
Burns plays a position that teams are very happy to manage their cap around. Also we are probably going to be in a position to have the nice rookie QB contract set up which allows teams to front load deals and better fit in bigger contracts for players at premier positions.

I would 100% agree Corral was mishandled and it was a complete failure on Rhule's part. Its not fair to him and it sucks this is where it is now. That is also the realities of being a late third round pick in the NFL its much less forgiving for a Corral than it is someone who the team invests the first overall pick in, especially when Corral inst going to be able to give much of an impression until after the Rookie is in town and practicing. Corral could win the job down the line in a couple years for sure and he's 100% someone I hope we keep around and develop. The argument I have is planning on having Corral compete for the starting job this preseason is just hopes and prayers. NFL teams do pay attention to draft capital and what it took to bring a player in when giving out "Chances" and the new coach is also going to want his first big investment to succeed. This means the Rookie is going to be given the favorable practice reps, we are going to have a Vet come in to help mentor him, and Corral is going to have to work much harder for every chance he's going to get. Generally that doesn't work out for players and they have to go to a few more teams before finding their chance. Ideally we get a coach in that understands Corral is someone who we should be developing and giving ourselves options in case something happens to said Rookie or in a year or two its not working out. Best case scenario they both pan out and we can flip Corral for some picks. I just don't understand how people have watched the NFL and think for a second Corral is someone we are heavily factoring in for our future decisions. He's, unfortunately for him, not going to be someone we are worried about when making roster decisions this offseason. He should have his chances and I like him enough to think hes got a chance to stick but right now hes facing a harsh reality of the NFL and he's going to have a significant challenge in front of him. It sucks but its just the truth

Generally with extensions that number next year isnt going to change and we will be pretty set in 2024 with our books to be able to effectively manage our coming extensions.
-
I mean based on this report you've clearly been wrong for years.

I honestly think these tweets read a bit like we are trying to squeeze out a bit more value on a negotiation, two firsts is what it would take for me to even answer the phone, I can see this going either way and I think it’s at a point I can see the argument for both the trade him and keep him crowds.
-
He’s not, but even if he was that one trick is probably the most desired trick in the NFL.
-
What I get from that is 16 of those teams (17 if you count Wentz) won a Super Bowl with a QB they drafted. My excitement isn’t over the tank it’s that we don’t have to sit here with a failed retread at QB for yet another year. The “tank” discussion is just more centered around having the ability for the new staff to pick their favorite QB.
