I just don’t understand why people think Reich has any desire to commit to a third round QB coming off a massive injury that he didn’t choose. I doubt Reich is ready to jump back into QB purgatory at the start of his second chance, he knows that’s the position he needs to nail down and he’s not going to sacrifice a year to do it.

another option than trading for the first pick...

Reich had similar failings with his own retread QBs as Rhule tbh -
That’s a good point. If Colts trade up to 1 and it is Levis I figure 5 is the spot we go to if we feel we need to with Fitterer’s Seahawks connection. Hopefully he has his finger on the pulse of the league like he has indicated he believes he does, because that path does hold a bit of risk. I think we’ll make sure we get our guy one way or another though.

Not sure what that means, Kansas City? -

If Caleb is as legit as the board talks who’s gonna trade down with a team that could be picking 15-20. That would cost us more picks than we’d have at that point. Maye has as many question marks as a Young or Stroud and you have no idea what a year of tape does to either of these guys and after that you are in crapshoot territory again. Strike while you are in position. A year of tape just gives the talking heads more flaws to dissect decent chance this time next year the class isn’t quite as rosy. -
I’d give 3 first right now and not blink to figure out our QB situation.

Honestly I just think they faced someone with enough talent to finally challenge them where they were weak. They are notorious for refusing to change what they do for any team because their mentality is that they are going to force others out of their comfort zone by shear talent and will. I think their game vs Tennessee and TCU really demonstrated that. Ohio State had enough receiver talent and a good enough oline to neutralize what they love to do and challenge their secondary. Stroud had to be on to do it but you could tell they weren’t used to getting pushed like that. I think Georgias defense is good enough on an off day to be a significant challenge though so I don’t think it’s fair to discount what Stroud was able to do necessarily, but I don’t think it washes away all question marks or anything.

Only thing I disagree with is Teddy arm, I think that's being EXTREMELY generous to Teddy's arm. He's pretty similar to Burrow in my eyes arm wise who doesn't have top league arm strength but can make the throws but his bread and butter is short and mid range accuracy. I honestly think that Georgia game watching him work off script answered some of my bigger questions in regards to only being able to work in the system, while yes I think you want them to work in the system he struggled previously when things broke down. In the Georgia game he generally made positives out of that other than a few specific plays I can remember and doing that against that defense is a pretty big step in the right direction for me. I do think that Georgia game is blinding people from some of his obvious flaws though and I think those are the reason he very easily could be the third QB taken. I'd still be very happy to take him as I think he is the safest QB to take in the first and I think a lot of his issues Reich can help him work through.

Tepper admits to mistake in hiring Matt Rhule
stan786 replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
I imagine there is a learning curve to Owning. I wouldn't say I think Tepper is a good owner or anything he has a significant amount to prove in that regard, but I loved his entire comment on both CEO coaches and the way the NFL is going in regards to the rule changes with Offensive Coaches. Gave me a glimmer of hope that hes actually growing into someone with some ability to grow and learn. -
I want Stroud the most, but i'll accept any of the top 4 QBs at this point.

I agree it did more for them at that point, but I think Joel processing Tess and understanding what he needs to do is going to help him continually open up to her throughout the series and that letter is sort of the catalyst toward him opening up enough to bring her along. I guess the first two episodes felt so much like a video game that it was refreshing for me personally to get something a little more fleshed out. I do think the story is simple and straightforward enough to both give us plenty of Joel and Ellie while taking small detours to build out the world and expand out on the themes of love, loss, and survival that are so important to the story. Psyched for next week, I would bet looking back once this season is finished this episode feels more necessary that it did to some but we'll see.

I think it had a lot toward pushing the Joel and Ellie connection and showing that there is still hope and joy in that world. There is only so many episodes you can have looking for a truck battery, thought it needed something like this to build out the world some more since its such a linear story line if you just follow Joel and Ellie. Dont think that letter does what its supposed to for either Ellie or Joel with the audience if you dont see why those words mean what they do.

It was his non throwing shoulder.

I would imagine all of this would be discussed in the interview I doubt Manuel was interviewed off a whim without some thought from Reich. I'm fine with dodging Bradley as he's had more bad years than good as DC and I think most of his name values comes from two great seasons with the Seahawks who had some insane talent as well. I'd far prefer Richard to Manuel though due to resume. Though i'm not sure what his situation with the Saints is now that his other Co DC got a job with the Falcons.

1. Majority of teams have holes, the only one they truly matters is QB, there are plenty of ways to fill in the rest. 2. Should always build out an Offense before a Defense, much easier to find defensive players in free agency once your competing. 3. LBs aren’t a value and we don’t need a top tier one to compete. 4. Most teams are within 2 years max of competing at any point with a competent coach and front office.

He had sort of a Chinn like start where they played him deep for a while and then Quinn got there in 2013 generally when the "Legion of Boom" started and he started playing the majority of his snaps in the box. He could play deep safety and Chinn can play deep safety but where they are best ended up being in the box.
