  1. Just for discussion sake (I think his size is a concern) other than Corral what other small QBs have had their careers cut short due to injury, kinda feels like the other side of the what athletic freak QBs with bad accuracy have been successful where the sample size is pretty low because only like Josh Allen has gone high enough to have a shot. Usually small QBs were forced to WR or not drafted in the past, much like big athletic QB prospects who weren’t refined. So the samples are a lot smaller and it’s hard to actually prove they can’t improve. The Flutie, Russ, Brees have had plenty long Careers and Murray’s big injury was a non contact knee injury which happens to everyone. I do think Murray’s running broke him down a bit but that’s not Bryce’s game. I just wonder if these narratives are more because only outliers at these sizes skill levels get drafted high in the NFL or if there is really an accurate example of light QBs getting serious injuries at a higher level. I’m concerned at both Young’s size and Deep Ball but I do like a lot of things he brings and I’ve been trying to find examples of players who have been killed by injuries and struggled because of how low the sample is.
  2. Yeah I’m out here trying to read smoke signals that could easily be for someone else. I still think they’ll trade 1 before free agency starts but I’ve been wrong before.
  3. I still think most of these reports we’ve seen feel like Chicago and Carolina negotiating in public, I haven’t seen much to show the Colts or Texans are all that motivated to move up. Bears leak they may trade a few times to put pressure on us to get to 1, we leak we are in on Jimmy G to have some ammunition to say we need this done by FA or we are going to take ourselves out of the equation, etc. Probably biased thinking but it still feels like this gets done before FA kicks off and ends up with us at 1.
  4. They won’t know what other teams boards look like but they’ll know what theirs looks like and I assume if we end up comfortable enough to sit at 2, we’ll have our pulse on what’s going to happen enough to be comfortable we get someone we value. I would guess we go to 1 as well but again if we have two QBs high on our board and the cost difference between 2 and 1 is enough it could make sense to save some value and sit at 2 in this scenario. Teams don’t share draft boards but GMs will readily admit they have a good feeling what certain teams are doing and it’s something Fitt has been good at in the past with the relationships he’s built. Its all part of the puzzle.
  5. Would depend on if he's in on the game and confident they get their guy at 2 or not. I don't think he's just going to keep his offer the same if they move to 2 and say "Now lets trade". But if it knocks the price down a bit for us and lets us get one of our guys or our guy it could be feasible. Really depends on our board and what we think the Texans board looks like.
  6. Yup, that's kind of why I think if it gets announced it ends up a three team deal. Houston can totally block Indy out and the Bears can lock in the value they need. Just refreshed and see you already posted that. I concur.
  7. Bears traded from 3 to 2 for Trubisky and got like two 3rds and a fourth. Feels like it could just net out where our package would reduce close to what the Texans pay. So only way it really makes sense is if we have a limit we are willing to pay we refuse to go over and we have 2 QBs we like a lot. The Bears could reduce the cost to move to 9 via the Texans package to move to 1 or something, and then we could align on value.
  8. It depends on our QB rankings, I'd say they'd need to have this ironed out for both moves before they hit the Texans trade. If they go to 2 it could reduce the amount the colts want to pay and they could potentially end up with no future firsts because I dont see the Texans giving one either. They'd need us or the Colts to be game to move to 2 with the appropriate package to really hit the trade with the Texans. I'll be a little surprised if the Texans are that motivated to move up a pick.
  9. I mean Pat White was an athlete trying to play QB. He wasn’t actually good at the QB stuff or developing when got waived. I feel like saying Young could be Pat White is like saying CJ Stroud could be Josh Rosen. Yeah technically all these players could bust but in terms of comps these seem pretty unlikely.
  10. Yeah I wouldn’t leave the draft without a first round caliber QB personally and I personally think ARich pretty developed in most of the things you can’t teach like pocket presence, athleticism, arm talent and I think his flaws are pretty correctable with good coaching. I’d prefer to go up and get Young or Stroud and I think we do but I’m open to any of the top 4 really.
  11. He had a bad oline but he also has a real issue sensing pressure, it pops up pretty constantly watching him. I’ll agree he didn’t have the help of others but I also think he didn’t help himself and it’s a real concern. This shows up in 2021 as well often. One of those where some QBs elevate their lines with pocket movement and some are dependent on having a good oline because they compound this issue if they don’t.
  12. I do think there is some sort of unspoken collusive esque agreement from a lot of owners not to go down this fully guaranteed path. You saw the Falcons and Panthers balk at guaranteeing the full Watson deal and that gave the Brown the edge in that discussion so its not surprising we balked now. I also think the timing has a little to play with this with teams not being able to negotiate with him till the start of Free Agency and then having to wait to see if the Ravens match or not. Potentially could be sitting out the first week or two of Free Agency due to money wrapped up in Lamar and end up with nothing to show. A lot of sides to this, I think the Ravens are going to match any deal thats not fully guaranteed, i'm interested if some teams start showing more interest post draft though if their plans dont work out as expected.
  13. Feel like the media hype last year was more people thinking teams would reach on QBs because QB when there’s a bit more conviction among them on Richardson this year in terms of actual rankings. That whole class last year was pumped up a bit we saw it with what we got with Corral as well with people predicting late first early second with him. We’ll see when the draft happens but ARich feels a lot more real than Willis did, also his tape shows a lot more top tier QB traits than just athleticism. Really comes down to how you feel about his accuracy issues and correcting them. People that like him see it’s an inexperienced QB who has a lot of inconsistencies especially in his base when he throws but that are very fixable, those who don’t just think he’s always going to be inaccurate.
  14. I do agree with this if I had to pick the faster processor between Richardson and Levis it’s pretty clearly Richardson. Levis internal clock feels off, so many open throws a second late it drives me crazy.
  15. I mean Stroud and Young were talked about like Caleb and Maye this time last year and had good seasons and it’s still this way. More eyes and more tape on players always seems to unveil more blemishes and lowers opinions. Has happened to numerous players. Maye lost his OC and it’s going to be a pretty sizable adjustment will be interested how that goes. If Caleb can’t win anything again next year does that lower people’s opinions? Always fascinating to watch it play out.
  16. Why would we not go to 3 in that situation? Feels like maybe if they go to 2 and then 9 it could work. But that requires us to have two QBs we want.
  17. I mean he wasnt really talking about fixing Wentz when you read his presser on him, he basically said that it was a team thing and you cant always expect the QB to be Superman. "When you have superpowers, quote-unquote, and in ’17, it was like he did have superpowers, he made so many plays, ridiculous plays, you just can’t do that all the time,” Reich said. “And then in ’20, the protection wasn’t as good as it was in ’17, and so it required him to do more with less, because they had so many guys hurt and because of the other dynamics that were there." However, Reich didn't completely absolve Wentz of the blame. "So, yeah, some of it’s him," Reich said. "Just get rid of the ball, help your offensive line out, it’s not just the protection isn’t good. The quarterback can help the protection, just getting rid of the ball. But it’s not all Carson’s fault either. It’s everybody’s fault.” Its closer to how people are blaming the Raiders org for Carr than it is about fixing him. In hindsight sure fixing him generally became the idea, but at the time it wasnt like Reich was out there saying "I have to fix him" it was more I believe in him and think he got a bad draw last season.
  18. I disagree with this a bit, Wentz was legitimately good statistically right up until that last year he got benched and was thought highly enough to pull a first round pick in a trade that offseason. I dont think Carr is destined to Wentz, but its not like Wentz was considered total garbage when he left the Eagles. A lot felt like he just needed to find a new home.
  19. Yeah i've always felt the visit to Carolina will be the true indicator for us being deadly serious vs just curious, I think if we do get that visit it probably indicates we are ready to push that way. Though if early rumors on Rodgers wanting to return to GB are true we may get beaten to the punch by the Jets regardless. This will be a fascinating week.
  20. With all the leaks today I personally am going to be surprised if they hold this pick beyond the start of Free Agency, feels like a lot of public negotiation posturing to me which usually indicates its in the process of getting ironed out. We'll see though, I'm not really a big believer in Poles so he could very likely be just playing stupid games as you say.
  21. Yeah this is the curse of waiting multiple years as a GM you get forced into a corner. Delaying a Rookie QB can help delay the clock at the outset, but eventually a GM is expected to find their QB and Fitterer is in a situation (Not entirely his fault) where he's gotta figure it out this year more than likely.
  22. We are definitely the one that would offer them the 24 1 and 25 1 hahaha. They better take it before we sign Carr and kill their leverage.
  23. I do agree with this which is why I feel like 1 is really our only trade spot until the Draft actually happens, I could see our FO having Bryce and Stroud up there (I agree with you on Stroud being the clear guy) but 2 isnt an option currently. Spending a ton trading up for Richardson or Levis feels like a Hail Mary and not having a trade up for one of them before the draft wouldn't really effect our FA like having someone that could probably come in and start week 1 would.
