  1. 2021 GM hiring is complete Atlanta: Terry Fontenot Carolina: Scott Fitterer Denver: George Paton Detroit: Brad Holmes Houston: Nick Caserio Jacksonville: Trent Baalke Washington: Martin Mayhew Place your bets: Who will be the first to get canned?
  2. Fitterers first press conference as the Carolina Panthers General Manager is scheduled for 11:30 today and will be stream on all Panthers social media and website. If you had the first question, what would it be?
  3. You get extra credit for using the work poop on the topic title. A+ thread
  4. The NCAA Forum located here... https://www.carolinahuddle.com/forum/11-ncaa-talk/ Has been untouched for several months. I am considering scrapping it. Thoughts?
  5. The Carolina Panthers media recently spoke to owner David Tepper about his recent hire of Scott Fitterer in the role of Panthers GM. Here is a breakdown of what was said and my opinion of what is happening between the lines. - Tepper confirmed he spoke to 12 outside candidates and 2 internal candidates. He confirmed what I had posted last week, these interviews were as much about him learning what he wanted in a GM as much as learning about the GM candidates. - Scott Fitterer is regarded as excellent evaluator, something Marty Hurney himself recently has said he was not. - Fitterer has experience in draft room for Seattle. Tepper put emphasis on Seattle's luck in drafting later rounds and would like to see the Carolina Panthers improve in this area. (amen) - Fitterer has experience with salary cap strategy in Seattle. - Tepper likes Seattle's flat organizational style, meaning fewer levels of management and more direct information flow. Less supervision and more delegation to employees to do their jobs. - Tepper mentioned Seattle has the second best record over past several years next to New England. He adds without prompting "It doesn't hurt to have a QB that can take you there" which can easily be seen as him not being satisfied with the current QB situation. - Tepper mentioned he likes a GM that will challenge the coaching staff. Fitterer certainly has the credentials to do so. At the end of the interview, Tepper reflected on his first seasons here and confirmed what many of us had suspected. He screwed the pooch. I imagine what he is referring to mostly here is keeping Rivera for a season too long and even worse keeping Hurney two seasons too long. That is precious wasted time. The good news here is that Tepper recognizes his own misgivings. Not every owner would own up to it, most would not. Tepper concludes by saying he hopes the Rhule and Fitterer hiring are among his best when all is said and done.
  6. Trust me. The guys that work in the org want Deshaun as much or more than any of us do.
  7. LMAO, they got a whif of the near 100% fan outrage and backed out quick.
  8. Tepper speaks on the record about the GM and also comments on QB Notice the line "it doesn't hurt to have a QB that can take you there" referencing the Superbowl. Doesn't take much to read between the lines here. We getting a QB, ladies and gents.
  9. How would you know, you just registered recently? This made me CHUCKle.
  10. You mean the team that hired Matt Millen to be GM has totally whiffed at head coach?
  11. Wait, this seems like there was a lot of outrage for no reason
  12. New Panthers general manager Scott Fitterer will hold his introductory press conference on Friday, Jan. 22 at 11:30 a.m. ET. Fitterer will take questions from the media about a wide variety of topics and fans are encouraged to tune in and watch the live video, streaming on Panthers.com, the Panthers app and the Panthers YouTube, Facebook and Twitter accounts. Fitterer agreed to terms to become the Panthers new general manager last Thursday after 20 years with the Seattle Seahawks, most recently as the vice president of football operations. He will be able to jump right into his new role in Carolina with the annual Reese's Senior Bowl starting practices next week.
  13. Watch this and then say that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rvIwyikbRU&ab_channel=NFLFilms
  14. I can't think of a better way to take advantage of it than packaging it for Deshaun.
  15. Yeah, I definitely think it is. Agnes isnt a common name and the husband is that other evil dude.
  16. He would instantly be the second best QB in Panthers history. I know that isn't saying much, but still.
  17. Fields or Wilson yes. Lance has the biggest risk associated with him.
