I can't believe this isn't being talked about!!! A rookie QB as captain. This is unprecedented.

I think you miss the point of the thread. To counter your argued. I'll take our oline over theirs. All of our running g backs can run behind this line. I'll take our defense over theirs. They have an established system. If our run games comes to play, and execute, every team will struggle against us. Believe.

24-10 Good guys. Defense shows up, and our running game is better than theirs.

I just can't ever agree with this mind set. This is THE NFL. Not For Long League. Injuries happen. Running backs and linebackers have the shortest careers due to the hits they make and take. I NEVER judge a player by injury. I never hold that against them and their contract. You either pay to have the talent, or someone else will. Period. While I hated seeing CMC go. He was sacrificed so that the team would have a real opportunity to get the QB of their choice, rather than sit back and pick from what's left.

As much as everyone is good for players making rheir money while they can, this is what's wrong with the NFL. No player is worth the value of these contracts that are being handed out. Unfortunately, that's life in the NFL.

I remember fans were ecstatic that Peppers went to the Bears. Many were talking so much shut about him, he had to have slapped their mommas. Then they wanted him back, when he went to the Packers. Then they were all singing his tune when he finally came back in the twilight of his career. We have a good pass rusher, that couldn't be replaced right now if we wanted. He wants to be here, and he's vital to this defense. I'd rather they keep them. I'm sure the BS will never stop flowing from others.

Which isn't the case with Burns. He's under contract, and he was going to get paid regardless. Oh, and I'd never sell a house in a hurry. There are better ways to financially handle that type of situation.
