  3. Derrick would have been playing on his 5yr option this year at $11.6 million 2nd highest cap hit behind Moton
  4. ANALYSIS: WHY BRINGING DERRICK BROWN TO PANTHERS IS SO BIG It’s no secret that Brown is among the best run stoppers in the NFL. His league-leading tackles number substantiates that. His teammates and coaches echoed that sentiment throughout the season, too — particularly after he was “snubbed” initially from the NFC Pro Bowl roster, an honor that values pass rushing numbers over everything else. What’s less publicized but equally important? His versatility. Brown’s breakout season in 2023 came after Evero arrived and implemented a 3-4 defense, a departure from the 4-3 scheme that Brown saw steady success in for his three prior years. His evolution was impressive. He hit career-high season totals in tackles, run stops and quarterback hits with three games remaining, and that resulted from a system that called for him to react to the block first — run or pass — before transitioning into his pass rush. But that’s not to say his presence in the 4-3 scheme was middling. The 2020 first-round draft pick out of Auburn, in fact, told reporters at one point late in the 2023 season that he thought he impacted the game more in the 4-3 scheme. Even if there was a hint of false modesty in there, it was revealing nonetheless. “To be honest, I feel like I played better last year,” Brown told reporters before his Week 16 matchup with Jacksonville in December. “But it’s one of those things where I feel like I’ve been able to be a big part of the defense and, you know, just do my job.” https://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/nfl/carolina-panthers/article286084246.html

  8. The record for WR's in the 1st round is 7 in 2004 This draft might break it if that's the case it will mean players at other positions of need (EDGE, CB, C)will fall out of the 1st round into Dan Morgan's sexy lap he must stay patient and not panic if their top 8/9 WR's are off the board by #33
  9. Exactly. Say Philadelphia offers both their 2nd's to move up

  15. Great stuff: https://www.the33rdteam.com/2024-nfl-draft-greg-cosells-latest-scouting-reports/ - Michigan Roman Wilson comp: Tyler Lockett - Florida Ricky Pearsall comp: Adam Thielen type route running, Amon Ra-St. Brown - Florida State Keon Coleman: The question with Coleman is whether he can line up at boundary x in the NFL and win one-on-one matchups consistently, His size and overall traits profile would strongly suggest that boundary x especially on the back side of trips would be his most favorable transition position at the next level but there would be definite concerns re: his ability to win individual matchups - UGA Ladd McConkey comp: Cooper Kupp - Texas AD Mitchell: Overall, Mitchell is a higher-level prospect with the size and athletic traits to develop into a quality NFL receiver and quite possibly a No. 1 receiver for a team, depending on scheme and deployment. - Penn State Chop Robinson: Robinson is one of the most fascinating prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft, given his sudden, explosive athleticism off the edge could be the best in the class. Yet, his production (sacks) is below the level you would expect to see. Remember, Danielle Hunter had 4.5 sacks in his college career.
