  2. SAM DARNOLDQB, CAROLINA PANTHERS Ex-Jets C Ryan Kalil believes new Panthers QB Sam Darnold did not have enough freedom playing under ex-Jets coach Adam Gase. Kalil, who is now retired, was one of Darnold's centers in 2019. “It was a system that didn’t allow a lot of individual freedom. It was very, ‘You do it this way and that’s it,’” Kalil said. “A lot of the scheme was pre-determined (plays) based on what they thought they were seeing from the sideline. It didn’t give Sam a lot of room to grow, in my opinion, to make decisions on the fly. ... It wasn’t a system that allowed him to evolve and make decisions on his own. ... And I think that’s why ultimately the Jets made some (coaching) changes, too.” It's a charitable reading of Darnold's struggles in New York, as Gase was not the coach for Darnold's rough rookie year in 2018. Darnold showed modest improvement under Gase in 2019 before going off the rails in 2020. Something that is not up for debate is that Panthers OC Joe Brady will be by far the best coach to ever call plays for Darnold. The quarterback's supporting cast is also better than any he had in the Big Apple. 2021 is now or never for the former No. 3 overall pick.
  3. Cecil Lammey @CecilLammey Ah, what might have been. League sources tell me #Jets turned down #49ers first-round pick for Sam Darnold earlier this offseason. Joe Douglas & co. had concerns about Zach Wilson's shoulder & wanted to see his pro day. Now, super confident & will likely be no2 pick #NFLDraft 12:56 PM · Apr 14, 2021·Twitter Web App
  4. The Fly is so young here. I believe this is Independence Day one of his finest films.
  5. Would not mind Rasul Douglas being re-signed could be solid depth at CB

  7. Donavaughn Campbell, OL, Louisiana Tech Our second Bulldog to make this list, Campbell was not graded by scouts before the season and was a non-entity in scouting circles. He showed flashes of ability at left tackle in 2020, but at 6’4″ and 336 pounds, Campbell has the size and style to play guard in a power-gap offense. He’s presently being pursued in Zoom meetings by the Houston Texans, Seattle Seahawks, New York Giants, and Carolina Panthers.
  8. True 5 million difference. Unfortunately no team will trade for him
  9. Frankly I think Pitts would be the right pick for them. Matt Ryan is still a solid QB and only 35 keep building your offense

  11. KYLE PITTSTE, COLLEGE PLAYER The Miami Herald reports "many around the league anticipate" the Falcons taking Florida TE Kyle Pitts at No. 4 overall.
  12. Interesting but not much else
  13. I for one loved your Thaddeus Moss post and I love ❤ you too
