  1. 3. MATT CORRAL, Mississippi (6-1 ½, 215, no 40, 1-2): Fourth-year junior. “It’s the tale of two Corrals,” one scout said. “The first few years at Ole Miss he was an absolute (off-field mess). Then the back half he’s the greatest leader and the toughest guy they’ve ever had. (Ole Miss) Lane Kiffin called him the best quarterback in the country. He’s in a system where basically it’s all predetermined. He throws every ball on a line. He doesn’t have a lot of touch.” Started for 2 ½ years, finishing with a passer rating of 106.5. Hands were 9 5/8. “I’d rather have Corral than Willis,” another scout said. “There’s a body quickness that I like. He’s got a very fast release. I know the system bothers some people in terms of a lot of RPO, but there’s elements of that in the league. He can have some early success if he gets in an offense that allows him to throw it around the lot a little bit. He throws it well enough. I’m more worried about him getting hurt. He’s not a big dude.” Rushed 334 times in 37 games (27 starts), gained 1,338 (4.0) and scored 18 TDs. Departed his first high school in California and went elsewhere as a senior after getting into a physical altercation with the son of hockey great Wayne Gretzky. Wonderlic of 15 was the lowest among the top 12 at the position. “He has the biggest bust potential,” a third scout said. “By far. He’s got a lot of off-the-field poo. He’s little. He gets hurt a lot … He’s not as big of a dickhead as this guy was, but there’s a lot of Johnny Manziel to this guy. Party boy. The team likes him more than they respect who he is overall because he’s a baller on Saturday. I wouldn’t bet on that guy. He plays in a backyard football scheme and doesn’t have to do much mentally. He’s at the line of scrimmage with one read.” His speed was estimated by a scout at 4.82. From Ventura, Calif.

  3. “Right now, we have other priorities we’re working with,” Graham said. “Dollars are limited. The biggest thing is we have other priorities.” The local push and pull over taxpayer money has obvious relevance to the team’s desire to build a new stadium. Owner David Tepper will expect public money. What happens if he can’t get as much as he wants, or any at all? Other cities have learned that lesson the hard way. Charlotte potentially could be next
  4. Thank you, I honestly take this as a compliment

  6. Last weekend, the Panthers and Browns seemed to be trending toward a Mayfield trade. However, ESPN’s Jake Trotter reports that the two sides were never close to completing the deal. According to Trotter, neither side wanted to pay the majority of Mayfield’s nearly $19 million salary he is set to make in 2022. By not finding a middle ground to pay the money, Carolina decided to trade up and select Ole Miss quarterback Matt Corral in the third round instead.
  7. Exactly. Remember we brought in Rasheem Green on a visit We drafted DE Amare Barno and then on Monday Raheem Green signed with the Texans Clearly we’re happy with Barno, Gross-Matos, Haynes, Joe Jackson, Darryl Johnson.
  8. ANDRE ROBERTSWR, CAROLINA PANTHERS Panthers signed WR/KR Andre Roberts, formerly of the Chargers, to a one-year contract. Roberts, now 34, went to three straight Pro Bowls from 2018-2020 as a return man and was named a first-team All-Pro in 2018 with the Jets. The Panthers will be his fourth team since then after spending two seasons with the Bills and splitting last year between the Texans and Chargers. Roberts has six career touchdown returns, three each on kickoffs and punts.
  9. Panthers GM Scott Fitterer said after the draft he wanted to add a kick returner and he got a good one. Carolina signed Andre Roberts, 34, an All-Pro pick three times in the last four seasons. Roberts led the league in kickoff return yards last year with 1,010. His 8,578 combined return yards are the post of any player in the league since 2010. He is from Columbia, South Carolina and attended The Citadel. David Newton, ESPN Staff Writer1m ago
  10. He's been one of the best in the business for years now
  11. The team agreed to a one-year deal with wide receiver/returner Andre Roberts. The 34-year-old Roberts was an All-Pro pick three times in the last four seasons, and led the league in kickoff return yards last year (1,010, with two teams). His 8,578 combined return yards (kickoff and punt) are the most of any player in the league since 2010. He had a 101-yard touchdown return on a kickoff for the Chargers last year, evidence he's still able to make big plays. https://www.panthers.com/news/andre-roberts-return-specialist-agreed-to-terms-citadel-south-carolina
