The Panthers would only do a Mayfield trade “if it’s a bargain,” according to Breer, with Sam Darnold already making $18 million on a fifth-year option. Paying $9 million of Mayfield’s salary is closer to the reported $13 million the Panthers asked the Browns to cover at the draft.
