EJIRO EVERODC, DENVER BRONCOS The Panthers completed an interview with Broncos DC Ejiro Evero for their head coach vacancy. The Panthers are one of five teams to show interest in Evero as a head coach. Denver, Indianapolis, Houston, and Arizona have also interviewed or submitted an interview request for the defensive guru. The 2022 season was Evero's first as a defensive coordinator. Despite the Broncos' struggles as a team, Evero and the defense remained strong. They ranked 14th in points allowed and ninth in EPA per play despite the offense consistently putting them in disadvantageous positions. With a few candidates already pulling out of the running for Carolina, it's possible Evero sits near the top of their list.

Colin Cowherd on his show today said he talked with Sean Payton for 4-5 hours last night and said had this to say today....it doesn't sound good for the Houston Texans (they interviewed Payton via Zoom)

VIC FANGIOCS, UNSIGNED FREE AGENT Falcons are interviewing former Broncos head coach Vic Fangio for the team's defensive coordinator vacancy. Fangio served as a defensive consultant for the Eagles this season following his three-year stint as the Broncos head coach. An old-school coach, Fangio could be just what the Falcons need following a season in which their defense allowed the tenth most rushing yards per game and the tenth most points per game. Only the Raiders, Lions, and Bears allowed a higher drop back EPA than Atlanta in 2022. Fangio should be considered the odds-on favorite to land the Falcons DC gig.

KEN DORSEYOC, BUFFALO BILLS ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Panthers are interviewing Bills OC Ken Dorsey for their head coach vacancy. Dorsey was promoted from QBs coach/passing game coordinator to offensive coordinator when Brian Daboll departed last year. Buffalo's offense was as dominant as ever under Dorsey, leading to his first interview for a head coaching gig. The interview will take place over the weekend. Dorsey got his start in coaching as the Panthers' quarterbacks coach in 2013. If he doesn't land the gig in Carolina this offseason, Dorsey will likely be a popular name in league circles next year.
