But knowing Newton as he does, Jackson won't feel sorry for the first pick of the 2011 draft. That was the same message Newton shared on social media.

With the COVID situation it seems risky not to have a quarterback stashed on the practice squad. One thing is clear, although the roster will be at 53 today it may not be the same 53 by next week.

Fitterer mentioned the biggest difference between really good teams and the rest of the league are players 26 thru 53 on their roster. The depth good teams have makes a huge difference. Free agency, the draft, and these smaller trades are all about improving the Panthers depth
