    La Canfora was probably doing someone within the Texans organization a favor with his report of the Panthers still being interested in Watson. This was clearly a desperate attempt by the Texans to drum up trade interest in Deshaun before Tuesdays deadline.

    DESHAUN WATSONQB, HOUSTON TEXANS ProFootballTalk's Mike Florio reports the Panthers "have no plans" to pursue Deshaun Watson before Tuesday's trade deadline. The Panthers "never considered offering" Christian McCaffrey as part of a trade package, per Florio, who casts doubt on the sides making a deal this season. This conflicts with a report that Panthers owner David Tepper hasn't given up on trading for Watson. The Dolphins continue to look like the favorites for Watson, though there's a lot of moving parts here. Watson will sit out the rest of 2021 in Houston if he doesn't get traded before Tuesday's deadline.

    Understandable Fitterer would want significant compensation. Bouye had been an excellent free agent acquisition and has a favorable contract (signed 2yr $7 million deal in April)
