BAKER MAYFIELDQB, CLEVELAND BROWNS Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer reports the Browns are willing to pick up half of Baker Mayfield's salary in a trade. The Panthers would only do a Mayfield trade “if it’s a bargain,” according to Breer, with Sam Darnold already making $18 million on a fifth-year option. Paying $9 million of Mayfield’s salary is closer to the reported $13 million the Panthers asked the Browns to cover at the draft. Carolina’s renewed Mayfield interest is a bad sign for third-round QB Matt Corral. The Mayfield market is expected to heat up ahead of July’s training camp.
