Smith got in three limited practices and should be regarded as likely to play. He missed last week's game with this listing, and Josh Wells dislocated his kneecap leading to fringe NFL tackle play for the Bucs. Smith has not had a good season, but he should be an upgrade for that as Tampa looks to keep Carolina's defense off Tom Brady VITA VEADL, TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS Buccaneers DT Vita Vea (calf) is questionable for Week 17's game against Carolina. Vea has sat each of the last two weeks, but practiced on a limited basis all three times leading up to this game and should be regarded as on the optimistic side of questionable. It's perfect timing for Tampa in what profiles as a must-win game, as Carolina's rushing attack needs to be shut down and Vea is one of the few humans on this planet who can single-handedly boost a run defense.
