  1. I mean, there's an ocean between "not playing perfect" and the protection Bryce is getting today.
  2. The Dallas fans next to me at the bar just said, "Forget Dak! Get him outta here!" If that happened as a result of this game, it would be worth it!
  3. Bryce is not playing like Bryce before the benching. There was a level of temerity there that honestly I didn't think he had it in him to overcome. He was playing scared, like the game was too big for him. Bryce before the benching would not have been able to deliver a throw knowing he was going to get hit. Bryce after the benching steps up into pressure, keeps his eyes down field and delivers an accurate strike, and then gets leveled. When Bryce before the benching ran, he looked like he was fleeing. Bryce after the benching looks like he's escaping. There's no other way to describe it. I'm not looking at the same player before and after the benching. I don't know what the cause for it is, but Bryce is playing with confidence, excitement, and playing the game at a very high level. I never would have believed I'd be saying this earlier this season, but I think he's our QB.
  4. I don't think anyone expected to be the Philly game to be as close as it was. So maybe (just speculating!) we saw this as an opportunity to rest up our borderline healthy players to get ready for what on paper anyway looks like a much more winnable game, against Dallas, in front of home fans. I wonder how many players wouldn't have scratched if we knew it was going to come down to the final drive.
  5. Nope. FA or later pick. We have too many needs on defense. I'd say trade back, grab a solid field general MLB, and get a second rounder back.
  6. Photo finish with a legit title contender. You have to ba happy with the showing if not the outcome. (Honestly, "the better team lost today" is the best outcome we can hope for the rest of the season! I'm here for it!) And I'd like to remind people that we are missing several of our best players due to injury. If we bring this intensity to next season, and can keep our playmakers healthy (and we put stick'em on XL's hands) we have the makings of a really solid team.
  7. XL understood the assignment. Moral victory taking the game down to the wire against another really quality NFL team. ...but don't hurt the draft position.
  8. Yeah he didn't get a hand under it. It was the right call. Legette needs to be on the JUGS matching 4 hours a day.
  9. He needs to work on hands catching, otherwise he's what I'd expect from a rookie with a lot of upside. Good routes. Good speed. But I just can't understand why he makes routine catches look so difficult. Throw one up for him to high point, and all of a sudden he starts leaping, twisting and contorting his body like you just tossed a cat in the air. Honestly, I think it's a confidence thing. Some more plays, some more TDs and the game will slow down a bit for him and he won't have to try so hard.
  10. I gotta think defense. O-Line looks good. Could probably shore it up. We have enough offensive skills position weapons. Again, could probably benefit from a game changer. The Defense lacks talent top to bottom. I wouldn't hate an all defensive draft.
  11. Meh. I'm consoled by the fact that I'll get to enjoy the absolute embarrassment of a loss whoever wins this division will suffer in the super wildcard weekend.
  12. Good showing by Bryce and a winning effort. But our draft position improves. I see this as an absolute win!
  13. I agree he could still develop, but I think that could still be developed in practice. Just after a scary injury like that, I'm nervous to see him get reps in a live game situation when the best possible outcome is nothing more than worsening our draft selection. That said, I'm 100% not a doctor, so if he's clear to play, he wants to play, and there's no potential of aggravating this injury (which by all accounts it doesn't seem that is the case for this type of injury) then go for it, I guess. But you hit the nail on the head. This draft class is really impressive. I can't remember the last time I was so impressed with a rookie that I'd actually prefer shutting him down. His game is so apparent that he doesn't need to prove anything at this point. Can't remember the last time that happened!
  14. We're seen enough of JT. Shut him down for the season. We know he's a stud. We know he's a core building block of our offense. We know receiving TE isn't a pressing need in the draft. And we know we're not in the running for the playoffs. What else do we really need to know? There's nothing to be gained by sending him back out this season.
