  1. I think you may be on to something here. His (welcome) absence from the limelight probably less about him intentionally taking a step back, and more about spending his time on other ventures. The Panthers are just a part of his portfolio. And right now, not a particularly profitable one.
  2. Yup. This is a "don't let him leave without a contract" message.
  3. Don't disrespect Bailey Zappe like that.
  4. Honestly, with a pro-quality offensive line, we might actually get what was advertised with Miles Sanders. As the video points out, Raheem Mostert was all world behind Hunt being himself arguably a mid-level RB. Sanders just never had any gaps to run through. Hubbard stubbornly found yardage, and I'm excited to see how Mrs. Rhule's favorite does behind this line when he has actual lanes to pick through. But Sanders is just a season removed from being one of the league's leaders in all-purpose yards. Behind the line we are building, this could be his bounce-back season.
  5. It has really devolved. I used to like his coverage; he was kinda like the Happy Gilmore for sports commentary. It was like you were listening in on a bull session of regular Joes at a bar rather than hearing from a stuff-shirt. But as a former pro, he could get real guests unlike any other regular Joe's podcast. But ever since he's gotten tied up with Aaron Rodgers and bought into his own hype, it's really leaning into the alpha male shtick. He's like Diet Andrew Tate. Yeah, I've largely tuned him out.
  6. I like it. He's definitely on the regression side of his career, but still a quality pass rusher with plenty of juice left. I'd try to lock him up on a reasonable 3-year contract so we still have him once we have a complete team, and we may be able to make a run at the playoffs with him. Absolutely no reason to pick him up on a 1-year rental when everyone knows we're not making waves for the next year or two.
  7. Sigh. And just like that, I officially have no current Panthers jerseys. More depressingly, I really don't know whose I'd want to buy right now.
  8. This all day. A strong offensive line is something we've desperately needed for a decade, and it's something that will benefit any QB. Cam, Bridgewater, Darnold, Baker, Bryce, they have all looked horrible because our offensive line has been warmed over dog poo since the Gross/Kalil days. Give your QB, ANY QB an opportunity to be successful. And whether it's Bryce, or a much better, taller, sturdier QB in the future (hypothetically) this will not be a wasted investment.
  9. Captroop and Sydney Sweeney!!! There has been some talk, mainly by Captroop himself, about Sydney Sweeney being a total smokeshow. This has led some to make dubious connections between the Huddle's cat poop, and arguably the most marketable actress in Hollywood at the moment. Sources say that Captroop has never actually talked to Sydney Sweeney, has no ability to do so, is married, and his wife is vehemently against the idea of polyamory. So yeah. Pretty much no connection or anything worth reporting. Carry on.
  10. I'll stop short of making that comparison but he looks as quick sideline to sideline. And he does that thing that I remember watching Luke do in the Ravens preseason game when I knew we had something special: he just disappears into the scrum and then somehow just pops out the other side like a David Copperfield magic trick going at full speed for a TFL. I'm on the record as wanting a MLB at the top of the 2nd. This is my guy now!
  11. Damn. Good signing by the Commies. And Rivera's not even there any more to grab up our cast-offs.
  12. It's kinda like getting fired. It sucks but then you think, "you know, I don't need to request any vacation days."
  13. I've got a perfect solution. How about we include in the package a QB who is worth not one, but TWO first round picks?
  14. Great signing! Not to get all wistful, but I wish we'd made a splash signing on a stud O-Lineman in Cam's career. But better late than never. The inside line is the foundation of an offense, so I'm all in favor of us making a huge move here.
  15. That was the line, but I really, really hope it's not true. I'm just excited to have a YOUNG, offensive minded head coach who offers a fresh take and new perspective. I've already made up my mind on Bryce. I wonder how long it will take the team to do likewise. But at this point, I've already got my eye on 2025. This is a year to move pawns and try to set us up for the future.
  16. Okay, if the Teppers' handlers are reading this, please take note: No one, and I repeat for emphasis, NO ONE wakes up in the morning and thinks, "You know who I really want to hear from today? The owner of the Carolina Panthers." Please tell Tepper and his wife to vanish into the background. We already dislike David Tepper, and Mrs. Tepper is not going to work as the more palatable public image of the Tepper enterprise. More facetime with the public is not going to repair things, and just fuels the narrative that they are too involved. Let the players, coaches, and front office people talk to the fans, and let the Teppers contentedly count their money, and stay out of the spotlight until it's time for them to hold up a Lombardi trophy. Then we the fans will be willing re-evaluate our opinions of them.
  17. Damn he took it down. Guess that means a lawsuit is incoming. The coaches' came back looking for a bag, so he had to pull down the self-uploaded deposition.
  18. That's what I see in that footage. Looks like his preference is to catch with his body, especially on deep balls. He catches with his hands across the middle. But if he's going to be unwilling to go up and aggressively pull a ball out of the air, he's going to struggle as an outside WR in the NFL. CBs would have broken up several of those catches before they would even get to him. 5th round or later.
