  1. Great response! And great block by Mingo. He still needs to make an impact as a receiver but I love his blocking ability.
  2. Meanwhile in Indy, Richardson looks like he's done for the year again. Looks like he tore something in his leg.
  3. Yeah, not buying it. If you're sticking up for someone, you don't throw your drink and leave. That's making a scene while storming out. How ridiculous is that version of events? "What did you say about my sister? I won't stand for that! I'm compelled to defend her honor. And so, Goodbye!" And even if it were true, still, it's something you just don't do. The optics are terrible. Throwing a drink is a bitch move. Throwing a drink and running away so the drink-soaked person doesn't have the opportunity to retaliate is a super-bitch move. And throwing a drink on someone who is an ant relative to you in the terms of power dynamics is an omega-bitch move. Is this really the story we want to try to dredge up now to re-contextualize? It doesn't make the organization look any better, and all it does is bring it back to people's minds when the best thing we can hope for is to forget it and move on.
  4. Jalen Coker promoted to the 53 man roster to fill in for Thielen: https://x.com/mike_e_kaye/status/1838626383783686513 Let's see what Smitty's darkhorse can do!
  5. I mean, if both teams are looking to produce the same results, I guess I can't argue it's an equal trade:
  6. Rex Ryan is an infected varicocele with cheap veneers. And yes, given the opportunity I'd say that to his face with my hands behind my back.
  7. To all the pundits who we had to endure this past week, THIS is exactly why you pull the plug on Bryce "only 2 weeks into his second year." Because we're still in contention right now. As miserable as those first 2 weeks were, today we have the exact same record as the Falcons, Ravens, Cowboys, 49ers, Dolphins, Rams, Cardinals... Teams who were heavily favored to be playoff contenders. Crazy poo happens in this league. And it would suck if the division ends up being wide open, but by the time we make a change we're already too far back for it to matter. It's a professional team. Play like you think you could win a Super Bowl until it's out of reach.
  8. FTFY Just kidding, of course. I know, he's worth millions and in the long run he'll be fine. But in his shoes, I would be so horrifically embarrassed that I couldn't show my face in public after that game, much less in that locker room with everyone celebrating the chance to play WITHOUT me.
  9. I was looking for Bryce. I can't tell if he's not there, or if the camera is just too high.
  10. Rex Ryan looks like Gary Busey cleaned himself up for a court appearance, and I care about as much as I would about Busey' opinions on football.
  11. 15-2 I will adjust my projection each week based on how many games we have lost to that point.
  12. To paraphrase Baker, Bryce's story is far from over, but from reading the prologue, certain things are already clear. He definitely is NOT a take over the locker room and lead by the sheer weight of his personality type. He's just not that kind of QB. I think he could be "great" in different ways, but that much is clear. He could be great on a great team; a great piece in an offense, but he'll never be a "great one"
  13. That's certainly a possibility. But I wonder if that's something that could be developed. He had 1 year with Shanahan. Which means he's had exactly 1 year of development to this point in his career.
  14. We'll see. I disagree, and I think he has the tools to be a quality NFL starter. His career as a starter has been for the Gase Jets and the Rhule Panthers. I don't see how he could be judged for his quarterbacking abilities on either of those flaming shitwrecks. I think on a decent squad he could look like a Derek Carr or Kirk Cousins. Not a world beater. But wins more games than he loses, and feed the ball to an outstanding WR. Not a tall order, but he never really had that opportunity before now. This is a prove-it season for Darnold. My belief is he's a starting caliber QB. But like I said, we'll see.
  15. Yeah, I was wondering what "pissed" would translate to. Angry and determined, or bitter and mopey. That looks 100% like the latter. So yeah, now I'm back on board with trade him for whatever you can get. Don't need to make the locker room uncomfortable and bring everyone down with negativity.
  16. That's the first positive news about Bryce Young I've heard in a while, and if it's true, it's the first sign that there might be some hope of salvaging the young man. A big problem is he's, from what I've seen, had absolutely no fire in his belly. He's just been the nice, quiet boy that no one has a bad thing to say about. He's says the right things in the press conference about it being on him after he blows another game. Maybe this is the kick in the ass he needs to wake up and be a leader: Also, this made me snot-laugh.
  17. A lot of the discourse this morning among the talking heads was around if they pulled the plug on Bryce too soon. If he ever had the opportunity to succeed. If he just needed time to develop. And if the Panthers were giving up on their #1 overall pick too soon. The league has definitely grown impatient, and we expect our rookies, especially our #1 picks to step in and lead from day 1. Was that asking too much of Bryce considering the situation he was stepping into? So what do you think? Is there any chance of salvaging him? Or at least salvaging him in the Carolinas? Would any amount of time watching and learning from the bench, resetting mentally, and allowing the team to build around him? Do you think we keep him on the bench to learn and grow into the starting role? Or is he done here?
  18. I'm celebrating because I'm positively surprised that we made the right call here. I'm genuinely shocked we aren't sunk cost fallacy-ing this and sticking with Bryce. We have to move on. We're taking the biggest L in the history of the NFL. But it had to be done. And the sooner the better.
  19. This too shall pass. I'm not invested in the team at all right now because the product on the field is garbage. And they deserve exactly as much of my fandom as is proportional to their commitment to actually trying to win a game. And as long as they start Bryce, I know that's zero. But these times don't last forever. And the only thing you can ever be certain of is entropy. Whatever the state of things are now is almost a guarantee that in the future they will be different. So I'll hang in there now because I want to be on the bandwagon when things start trending up. Doesn't mean I'm setting aside my Sundays now to watch this poo. Doesn't mean I'm buying an merch. I'm still going to express my derision for the current ownership through my wallet and attention. But I'll be a Panthers fan until they're no longer in the Carolinas.
  20. It's not a mystery. He needs to lower the level of competition. He's probably a fine QB, but he's simply not cut out for the NFL. He needs to step down to the USFL or CFL with the other good, but flawed talents out there. It sucks, because the world isn't fair, and his flaws aren't something he has any control over. But he's just to damn small, weak and slow to ever hope to be successful at this level. He won't get his confidence back until he has even a fair chance to be successful. And that will never happen here.
  21. There is no incentive to play hard for a team that has nothing to play for. If an L is already a guarantee, why bother playing your heart out? Why risk injury? I don't think you would. Bad play will build a low energy, no effort, loser culture that will take years to erase. You have to play to win now. Not because you think you will, but so your team still has some fight and dignity left. And starting Bryce is not the way you do that, because you cannot look me dead in the eyes and tell me that Bryce Young starting at QB gives this team the best chance of winning on Sunday. You have to bench Bryce to save the psyche of this franchise.
  22. fug no. Move the Tepper. We were here first.
