  1. You don't rush back from an Achilles tear, and really unless you are very young it's never quit as strong as it was. I didn't want to rush Patches back because of it and was shocked he was already skating as early as he was. I feel terrible for him and the team. I hope he's able to continue his career if he wants to, but man this is a gut punch. Get well soon Patches!
  2. Koochie probably wasn't thrilled about our guys not being able to clear the puck out of our zone at the end of the game yesterday. That being said, him going off a little shows he needs to mature a little bit more. I hope Andersen is 100% (110% would be even better) and can make a return to last season's form and not the form he was showing earlier this year. If it's the latter we should all be concerned and realistic about the Canes' chances come playoff time.
  3. We won't claim him - the only way he's coming back is if he passes completely through waivers and Detroit outright releases him. The Canes made the right call, Ned took a chance on himself and didn't think that the D he had in front of him was a big reason for his success.
  4. I think the Rams will be open and Chicago is 50/50, but that's me spitballing. You may be right, with Tepper's bank roll Reich may come here as OC. Of course, if one of the younger guys get the HC job their philosophies will have to mesh. If it's Ryans or Wilks who gets the job Reich makes more sense.
  5. The only way Reich ends up here is if he doesn't get a HC job, and with a lot of them opening up I bet he'll get one.
  6. Double him and then let one of Georgia's other WRs start doing the same thing when 1 on 1 coverage.
  7. I had Georgie at OVER 40 and the game at OVER 60. I hope Georgia keeps cooking and allows a few TCU TDs.
  8. There's a difference when you have a month to prepare for a game vs. a week. Stroud looked great, but OSU definitely had a good offensive game plan against Georgia. Same thing for TCU, they put together the best plan they could and were able to beat Michigan (although I think Michigan didn't respect TCU enough). One week didn't give TCU a chance to put together and practice their absolute best game plan against Georgia, and knowing Smart he lit that defenses arse on fire, including his defensive staff, after that OSU game.
  9. Duggan does not possess the arm to make that pass, let alone when it's covered underneath and over the top.
  10. I just wish one of our guys would have handed Cam Jordan a damn broom.
  11. See this screams bullsh*t to me. Caserio should have been shown the door before Lovie.
  12. He has shown some real creativity with the Lions. I just put an asterisk on tonight's win because the Lions were playing with house money. They played loose and threw the kitchen sink at the Packers including the very popular "bubble screen/lateral."
  13. Agreed, but Lovie is not a HC. He wasn't going to bring anything to the table for the Texans at all so why even hire him? I hate to think the real reason why he was hired, but this is the NFL.
  14. I think Caldwell is a little old, but I have a lot of respect for that man. He coached the Lions (the Lions!) to two playoff appearances with average talent. Reich, maybe? He has to blow the doors off the interview I think to be the HC. Think I'd like him as OC though.
  15. No offense to Lovie, but that was a "what?" hire when it happened. Another opening and more competition for a quality HC.
  16. oh and I am hoping for an early SF exit and wouldn't mind seeing the Carolina Bills win it all.
  17. I'm sorry, glad you are in a better state now.
  18. I think you hit the nail on the head about what went on with the defense when he became HC. It got worse. All the stories out there that he didn't agree with Snow's defensive philosophy and he wasn't running an NFL defense are moot to me because he was named interim coach and booted Snow. Why didn't Wilks then, along with Holcomb, start implementing what they thought was missing from our non-NFL defense? I will give them the fact that maybe the personnel wasn't there to do everything they may have wanted, but I don't see why they didn't go ahead and pull Chinn from S and put him in at LB. We had other safeties that could have been plugged in and it's possible Chinn makes more of an impact and the safety we put out there contributes roughly what Chinn did.
  19. Wish I could say Ian Thomas but for some reason they signed him and paid him way too much last year. Shaq won't be let go, he's only got one year left on his contract and is being paid way too much. Henderson has one year left as does YGM so I think they both are back. $28M in Dead money due to Robbie Anderson and CMC.
  20. Don't want Wilks for HC, we would be in this 9-8, 8-9, 7-10, 10-7 cycle again. Would love to have him back in some capacity. I don't want Holcomb or McAdoo back at all.
  21. I feel you bruh! I had Brady as a 4th rounder we should have picked in the 2000 draft. I also had us taking Stefon Diggs in 2015 in the 4th round, Tyreek Hill as a 3rd rounder in 2016, and George Kittle in the fifth in 2017. I never expected Brady to last all these years so I also had Dak Prescott as my 4th rounder in 2016 after we took Hill to give him a deep threat. I just shake my head that the Panthers can't evaluate like me.
  22. I agree our power play improving would help, but this team will be in the penalty box as will most teams during the season and playoffs. Let's don't forget during the playoffs that the Canes have to play against their opponent and the refs. It still takes a solid goalie who will make a couple of saves that an average/good goalie won't. Those saves that change the outcome of the game. Our goalie situation is a big issue and IMO is the one thing we can't overcome if we want to win a Cup. I don't even know if we can address the issue. There's always a chance one of them goes on a heater, so who knows.
