Yeah I agree with you regarding Donato and Palmieri, I think we haven't looked into them because I really believe we are trying to pry Tarasenko from the Blues for a fair price. Sounds like the Blues still want the moon and I just don't think that's going to work well for them or Tarasenko so you better get something while you can. Eichel is expensive and I do worry about his neck injury. I don't want to Canes having anything to do with that.

Tarasenko is the play I believe - some decent prospect(s) not named Jarvis and maybe a 2nd rounder in 2021 and possible 2022 if we get the Blues to retain some salary? I think Gardiner may be asked to go to LTIR. I mean we need to utilize our options just as the Lightning did.

We brought in competition and very early on it was apparent they weren't as good as Slye. One guy I am interested in is the Giants kicker that is probably going to lose out to Gano. I almost think the rest of the teams in the league are watching that situation to. We may have to trade a 6th or 7th for him to get him. Fitts will have to make some trades during the draft to replace that pick.

Decent deal for Robby - as long as he produces it will probably become a very solid deal. We still have $$ for DJ and will sign him unless he drops off a cliff. Like what Fitts has brought to the table. He is doing a pretty good job so far, except for bringing in a kicker to compete with Slye.

Even if vaccinated you can still get it, either the alpha or the delta or any other variant. If vaccinated most likely the symptoms will be much milder like a bad cold..and yes you can spread it. Covid is endemic so everyone should prepare for their boosters and yearly Covid shots just like we have with the flu now.

The whole defensive logjam makes no sense at all at this point. I would really like to see the Canes man up and go and get Tarasenko. He has one year left and maybe the Blues will eat some of that as well depending on the return. If he puts up numbers likes he has in the past then give him a 2-3 year contract...show us you aren't being cheap.

We only have a small game license. I will be pleased if the Hurricanes go out and get a Top 6 scorer, but at the moment I think we are done and the results will show up next year when we *may* not make the playoffs. His +/- can be attributed to Slavin...at least half of it. He looked lost at times when Slavin didn't play in the Nashville series. For all that has been said about Dougie not enjoying being criticized in big hockey markets and really feeling at home in Carolina money ruled the day and he moved to a team that is covered by the NY media. Good luck Dougie...I hope NJ had a solid defenseman that will cover your ass when you make a boneheaded play.

I can only hope that the bridge deal gets done with Svech and that we may also get either Saad or Tarasenko in a fair trade. Saad is a free agent so his only cost would be the contract he signs. I like the idea of Tarasenko because the dude is a lethal sniper who can put points on the board. I just don't want to give up much to the Blues because his cap hit is $7M. If the Blues retain salary and we can make a good trade I think he may come in and really be motivated to stick it to the league and the Blues.

Reported that Bean requested a trade after he wasn't selected by the Kraken. He wants more playing time... I am not as torn about this trade as I am Ned - I don't think Bean was ever going to be that good honestly. I may have to eat my words, but he looked like an AHL lifer at the end of the "regular" season and playoffs. Rod had no trust in him at all!

Well I was wrong....Ned did get his raise, but not from the Canes. I guess they didn't like the small sample size of his actual games played! Playing with fire - this is either going to look good like the Skinner deal played out or the Canes just made a very big mistake. We'll know in a couple of years.

I agree with the overall sentiment, but Tripp's contract did expire and he was re-signed! Stormy has been two handfuls of stray cats stuffed in the costume the past two seasons!

I think this all just posturing from both sides. Ned will get his raise, but the Canes cannot break the bank and term on him - he only has a partial season and two playoff rounds where he has been the man. Oh, we also didn't win the President's Trophy this year even though we had a chance....and yes I give a ton of credit to Nedejkovic for having that opportunity.

I think Marty can only be thought of as a 4th liner, he is a great locker room presence, great for team morale, but he's just a grinder and doesn't have a great amount of "skill" that the Canes probably want for the money and term he is asking. We do have a lot of young talent in the system that need opportunities, hate to give up what Marty does bring but this is a business and money rules the day.

Necas had a better season than Turbo, but I won't say he is better yet. I hope he becomes better than TT! Again, TT won't be left unprotected.

TT didn't have his best season last year, but if you think we are better without him I'd like to know who you consider replacing him with and what other winger on this team other than Svech you think is better than he is?

I'd like him to be able to back up all that talk from his Rookie season. No doubt he has talent, but I'd like to see a whole season where he shows up....injuries aside.
