I think Caldwell is a little old, but I have a lot of respect for that man. He coached the Lions (the Lions!) to two playoff appearances with average talent. Reich, maybe? He has to blow the doors off the interview I think to be the HC. Think I'd like him as OC though.

No offense to Lovie, but that was a "what?" hire when it happened. Another opening and more competition for a quality HC.

I think you hit the nail on the head about what went on with the defense when he became HC. It got worse. All the stories out there that he didn't agree with Snow's defensive philosophy and he wasn't running an NFL defense are moot to me because he was named interim coach and booted Snow. Why didn't Wilks then, along with Holcomb, start implementing what they thought was missing from our non-NFL defense? I will give them the fact that maybe the personnel wasn't there to do everything they may have wanted, but I don't see why they didn't go ahead and pull Chinn from S and put him in at LB. We had other safeties that could have been plugged in and it's possible Chinn makes more of an impact and the safety we put out there contributes roughly what Chinn did.

Wish I could say Ian Thomas but for some reason they signed him and paid him way too much last year. Shaq won't be let go, he's only got one year left on his contract and is being paid way too much. Henderson has one year left as does YGM so I think they both are back. $28M in Dead money due to Robbie Anderson and CMC.

Don't want Wilks for HC, we would be in this 9-8, 8-9, 7-10, 10-7 cycle again. Would love to have him back in some capacity. I don't want Holcomb or McAdoo back at all.

I feel you bruh! I had Brady as a 4th rounder we should have picked in the 2000 draft. I also had us taking Stefon Diggs in 2015 in the 4th round, Tyreek Hill as a 3rd rounder in 2016, and George Kittle in the fifth in 2017. I never expected Brady to last all these years so I also had Dak Prescott as my 4th rounder in 2016 after we took Hill to give him a deep threat. I just shake my head that the Panthers can't evaluate like me.

I agree our power play improving would help, but this team will be in the penalty box as will most teams during the season and playoffs. Let's don't forget during the playoffs that the Canes have to play against their opponent and the refs. It still takes a solid goalie who will make a couple of saves that an average/good goalie won't. Those saves that change the outcome of the game. Our goalie situation is a big issue and IMO is the one thing we can't overcome if we want to win a Cup. I don't even know if we can address the issue. There's always a chance one of them goes on a heater, so who knows.

These are the games we need to just win. Columbus is a team we should beat, not lose to. We've done this the last couple of seasons, lose to teams we should beat. It's fine ever so often, but we have consistently lost to teams we should beat. It costs us in the standings and even more I think it shows our guys think they can cruise through games sometimes and they've done that in the playoffs too. These guys are professionals, every game should matter...I don't expect perfection, but I think most fans expect full out effort and the team doesn't always show it. We do have an issue in goal, no other way to slice it. It's the biggest thing that will keep this team from winning a Cup. Koochie is going to be good, but he still isn't there. Rantaa has never been the answer and Freddie is fine china.

I actually would take Young over Stroud. Young reads the field better (and yes I say this even after Stroud had a great game against Georgia), recognizes defenses MUCH better, throws the ball on target, and has mobility to get out of tough situations. Our O-Line is better and I hope it continues and I think Young will turn out to be the better QB. He had way less talent at WR and TE than Stroud.

I wish Peppers would help Burns figure out how to be an effective edge rusher and NOT be such a liability in the run game. I suppose I also need to realize Peppers was a freak of nature and Brian Burns is not that guy.

Is he bringing his defense and players with him? If so, sign him up with a clause he has to sign a MEGA STAR OC. My first choice would be Harbaugh, the guy can just coach and let's his coordinators do their jobs. He would also get the best coordinators he could IMO.

Darnold threw that one pick by trying to force the ball in. It's in his makeup, gotta have a very good team to make up for those kind of mistakes.

I feel like I am back on the Riverboat with Ron picking in the mid teens and winning moral victory games. Proud the team picked it up, but they weren't clutch enough to get it done. I think we are on the way up *if* we draft well. Secondary was supposed to be a strength and it was a major weakness today. I like our OL and think it will only get better if we keep the guys together. Darnold as backup on a decent contract, otherwise be aggressive and see if you can land a franchise QB somehow and roll with Corral as the backup. TE, DE, LB, and C are all needs IMO....especially when we aren't going to be able to draft Young or Stroud.

I said Wilks would have to win the division to get the HC job and even then I really didn't like the idea. Today he showed exactly why I don't want him as HC as much as I like him and the players respect him. 4th and inches, 4th and short.....you got to have faith and go for those at midfield. This game was all about keeping the ball from Brady because you know your secondary is very, very weak. Instead I think we threw the ball too much and we didn't go for it when we needed to. Simple as that. I also think we should have gone for a touchdown instead of the field goal at the end. Would have made a difference? Not sure, but you score that touchdown first. I hope Wilks sticks around, maybe as DC - but I even question that as the D hasn't been as good in the 2nd half of the season. Maybe Asst. Head with secondary responsibility?

Look, I like Wilks but unless he wins the division and takes us to the playoffs I am not sold. If everyone feels like he'll keep the current staff as is and make additions I am definitely not on board. Of course, it doesn't matter what I think either.

Really depends on the vet's mom. Only way I see it is if the Raiders release him and we could sign him to a short term, reasonable deal. That reasonable deal isn't happening and Carr doesn't want short term so not going to happen.
