I think the majority of the poor run defense can be blamed on the linebackers. A little bit of it can be blamed on philosophy as well, however. We are selling out on the pass virtually every play. The edge rushers just completely disregard the potential of a running play.

I'm slowly forgetting them.

This is just.... so funny.

Of course it isn't the QB. This team has drafted two first round offensive linemen in the past 25 years. We are weak up front. Cam covered up how pathetic this o-line really is and has been for quite a while.

I don't believe it's all the QB with us either, but to act like Teddy is anything more than he was here is a bit of a stretch.

Have you ever seen someone get hit by a truck?

Brady Christensen vs Bucs 1st rd pick Joe Tryon

It would set this franchise ahead by YEARS if he pans out as a legit left tackle. -
It's hard to predict. If someone like Trey Lance is there, some dumb team will be willing to give up an insane amount to go up and get him.

My favorite thing about the draft is when it happens. The speculation gets to be mind numbing.

I'm not going to say I disagree with him... but he could have been a little bit nicer about it. -

Only on the condition that they move on from Teddy. Always good to have a good vet backup. -
Trey Lance or Mac Jones.

Many people love the idea of trading back, but 8 is kind of a sweet spot for top talent when you have such QB needy top 5 teams. I'd rather see us grab any of the top 5 non-qb players at #8 than see us move back. Kyle PItts, Devonta Smith, Surtain, Sewell.... Those are guys that are almost surefire all-pro.

Lemme get a hell yeah

Nothing. Generally speaking, however, a forum made up of hundreds of millions of people has at least a tiny chance of having some legitimate people wishing to remain anonymous spill some beans here and there. NFL news being leaked on reddit is not unprecedented at all.

While I take it with a grain of salt, I'm not one to simply discard the reddit platform that is reshaping the way financial markets work.

Agreed, unless Fields falls to them. I do think they'd be willing to pass on Lance, but doubt they'd let Fields go if he drops... unless someone started making stupid offers.
-
He's a hybrid. Lined up at safety and LB quite a bit last year. Wouldn't read too much into it.
-
If he's available, Pitts. I think having two good pass-catching tight ends can really help Darnold get his confidence back. Sewell would be a nice consolatory pick, however.

This is the obvious answer. -
I'm actually trending toward optimism right now, which exceedingly rare for me with this franchise.
