Why am i the only one who doesn't like this hire?
1. Ride Peyton's coat tails
2. 9-7 with lions twice when they had stafford and megatron
3. Ravens offense collapsed after super bowl with him as oc
4. Last job was in miami pre-tua when they were awful
5. HASNT COACHED IN FOUR YEARS. according to pro football reference so may have missed something
6. This was the backup plan bc whoever tepper wanted from philly said no. Why wait this long? Was caldwell and advisor for one of the two teams? No.
tldr; this will be mcadoo 2.0, if not worse. His schemes are outdated. It will be like ron calling offense. Bland and uninspired. He survived years on talent. We get yet another coach because NO ONE WANTS TO BE HERE
He is not the OC. He is Dom Capers on offense.

It may be best to look outside the Eagles for coaches. Good chance both coordinators become HCs in Indy and AZ. That staff is going to be cleaned out.

Houston wanted to hire McCown as HC last year with no coaching experience but got spooked and ended up hiring Lovie. McCown is going to be a HC someday. Great hire.

Good for him. I hope he learns to be aggressive there because his conservative philosophy was his downfall here.

Why waste a high pick on an OG? That makes no sense.... its not a position of need nor is it a position you spend high capital on.
We have Christenson, Corbett, and Mays. No need to waste a high pick on a guard.

Jones states in the article that Johnson might be waiting to see if Shane Steichen gets a head coaching job, either so he can follow him to his new destination or follow in his footsteps as Eagles OC.
It's speculation, but reasonable speculation.
Gannon may get a HC job as well. Johnson could go with him.

What vet QB will the Panthers sign to hold down the fort while our DRAFTED Young QB develops?

He went to Northwestern. They don't just let anyone in there. He's my top choice.

Kafka interviewing Sunday. He is my top choice of the young OC Candidates.

Tepper had 5 years to get things straight but did what he did. Two years of picking out his shovel and two more years of solid digging. The night watchman is eventually given the keys, and using working man’s tools steps up and stabilizes things somewhat.
As soon as he gets a shower and a good night’s rest Tepper is looking around for a shiny new shovel. This time it will be one of those high dollar Historic ReIssue shovels (they get you most of the way there, most owners say).Is Brees here? It was him not Payton. And remember all those great defenses Payton put together? Me neither. You are gonna need both and you are going to empty the cupboard or at least a couple of shelves worth before you start cooking that meal.
This is the epitome of retread. Maybe Dennis Allen can come on board as DC.
It's been reported that Vic Fangio is tied to Peyton. One of the best DCs out there.

I still think it's Johnsons job to lose.

Ben Johnson was on staff at BC when Luke Kuechly was there. I would love to see him come on as a LB coach learning from a veteran DC like Fangio.

Doesn't sound good for Wilks if this is true unless he is the one that suggested it.

Not a sure thing he would go any higher next draft. I think he will declare but maybe he really likes college.
Next year he would already be behind Williams and Maye, possibly Penix too.

I saw FL had an offer of something like $13 million in NIL to a high school recruit. Imagine what kind of NIL deal Stroud could get to stay 1 year. Certainly more than a rookie contract.

Does Wilks have any connection to Dan Mullen? Johnson coached QBs at both of Mullen's stops (MSU and UF) and was also OC at Florida before Mullen was fired.
Not sure on Mullen but Wilks does have a connection with Georgia OC Todd Monken. Wilks was DC in Cleveland while Monken was OC there.
-
The fact that we have requested to interview 2 defensive coaches after Wilks has interviewed make me wonder if he has been eliminated from consideration.

You don't play sports to lose. The Texans rallied in the fourth quarter to "lose" the #1 pick today. No one cares about draft position except fans.
Ask that to Bears fans who are celebrating. Most cap space in the NFL and now can auction off the #1 pick to the highest bidder if they choose so. You think the Bears care about a few meaningless wins.
-
And let him lead us to the #1 pick. Fire him on black Monday. Now we are probably stuck with Wilks still searching for a QB.

Redzone for me. It's like a preseason game at this point.

This dude has so many red flags. Why do we want another ego maniac college coach again? We just had one of those.
Would you rather have a nice guy that can't win? Harbaugh is a better NFL coach than college coach. Look at his record with SF.

I don’t think it’s possible for us to drop a single spot with a win Sunday
Our SOS is at .474 while the lowest SOS of the 7 win teams is .502
SOS will not change that much with one game left
Yes, it is very possible we are picking 9 win or lose. I don't see any of the 6 win teams winning.
